Clone for everything but lands! Thoughts? I dig it!

I think I'll run this at 360. Not exactly sure what I'll cut for it, but the ability to clone planeswalkers and broken enchantments makes it worth the additional mana when you compare it to Phyrexian Metamorph. I dig as well.

This is so damn cool. Well worth the cost, methinks. Being able to copy a creature + artifact is worth 4 or 3 + 2 life as a very good baseline (Phyrexian Metamorph) so being able to duplicate an opponent's Planeswalker, or a random enchantment, seems like it's probably worth the cost sidegrade. It is also a creature rather than sorcery-style clone, which are always better. The art is humerous, too: the guy in the foreground is all D: just from his body language!

This card seems testable.

I'd love to copy a Treachery or Oblivion Ring. Just getting a clone isn't even bad. Lots of versatility on this thing. I can even copy a low loyalty planeswalker of mine, or an opponent's planeswalker.

I don't know how many incredible targets are in the cube for it, but it can always just be a clone which is fine.

I'd like this card more if I could copy a Maze of Ith though. Why nonland at 4 mana?

This to me seems like an inclusion at 360, the replacement being Phyrexian Metamorph. I can see advantages for both, but copying planeswalkers and enchantments seems too good.

I suppose another option is dumping Phantasmal Image, but thats a different CMC.

As far as Clones go, it's worse than Phantasmal Image, Phyrexian Metamorph and Dack's Duplicate. It's probably better than Vesuvan Shapeshifter unless you want the latter to support a Morph theme. It's better than Clone (obviously) and Sakashima's Student (I think).

As far as Blue 4-drops go, it's roughly on par with things like Dungeon Geists, Talrand, Sky Summoner, Thieving Magpie, Tradewind Rider etc. I'd certainly play it over the latter two.

I put it at about 600 Cube size.

I did a spit take when I saw this. I can't wait to try it.

You are waaaaaay underrating the ability to have the best *anything* on the board for 4 mana, especially in a format like Cube. I wouldn't cut Metamorph, and Phantasmal Image is a very different kind of card, but there's got to be *something* you can cut for this even at 360.

Yeah I put all the Phyrexian cards in my colorless section. Regardless, no way I'd replace one with the other.

I think it's hard to compare this card to the other clones. I think it's on par with Metamorph and Duplicate, but all three have such different pros/cons that it's hard to put them side-by-side in a vacuum.

Finally a walker clone!

Whoa, wasn't expecting anything like this. Really cool clone, will definitely find space for it, but not cutting metamorph since that's a colorless spell for us. It has so many nice things going for it, all sorts of targets, 0/0 works with reveillark etc., I Love it.

For some reason, I still have Clone in my 465 list, so this is an easy swap.

I think it makes it in 360 lists. Copying planeswalkers is pretty good.

This is probably the 3rd best Clone effect behind Metamorph and Image. I think it's worth testing at the very least, even in smaller cubes.

This is awesome. Copying the planeswalker your opponent plopped down is amazing.


It's behind Image and Metamorph, but Metamorph is colorless so I don't think that's a big deal.

Copy opponent's Karn Liberated and exile their Karn with it.

Oh man, my custom cube had a card 2UU 0/0 etb as any creature or walker. Sick that we get an even better version of this. You gotta shove this guy in your list no matter how tight.

I may push Metamorph to my colorless section (making a cut there, of course) and put this in the blue slot that is freed up.

Probably just because that is a blue rampant growth, which I assume they don't want for color identity purposes. You can still clone a signet, but that's harder.

It didn't stop them from printing Annex, which is not only blue ramp, but it's also pseudo blue LD. I think cloning lands would be okay. Just maybe not strapped to the same card that can copy creatures, planeswalkers, artifacts and enchantments too. At 4 mana. But at 3UU, this could copy lands too and be okay.

Is this better than sower of temptation and glen elendra archmage?
Eithwr way I think I still have willbender ao I think I will swap that.

I don't think it's better than Sower or Archmage (or Venser) but it's still a great 4cc blue creature (I'd rank it 4th on that list). Potentially higher depending on your planeswalker/fatty saturation, when this guy can shine in a surprising way.

Woooow that is awesome. It's not every set that a clear blue inclusion comes along. Not sure what will be cut, but this is going in.
