Risen Executioner
2BB
Creature - Zombie Warrior
Risen Executioner can't block
Other zombie creatures you control get +1/+1
You may cast Risen Executioner from your graveyard if you pay 1 more to cast it for each other creature card in your graveyard.
4/3
It's not a power house but the lack of solid 4cmc creatures in black, along with a potentially increasing zombie tribe, could warrant his inclusion.
Zombies seem imminent for a upcomming set or block.
I like casting creatures from my graveyard and works well with delve and turn dumping this to LotV casting it on 4 seems good.
Can't block isn't a big deal on one drops but on a 4 drop not so much. It also has the magic three toughness and no evasion. I don't think it is a great fit for my cube but I am sure there are some who are more graveyard centric that will value all over the place with this guy.
It's interesting and a cool design, but I'm not too excited. Not blocking is pretty ka-ka-doo-doo, and no evasion makes this pretty worse than all the flying 4-mana options for that type of creature in the cube.
Pass. Tribal cubes only, otherwise this is awful. Unimpressive stats, can't block as a four drop, and that recursion cost is not cheap. This makes Undead Warchief look amazing. I'm really sad to see this at mythic.
This has a better body than Zombie Warchief and is more resilient - I'd call this the stronger of the two cards overall. However, neither have any business being in anything other than Tribal Cubes so unless we all really want to have a conversation about Tribal Cubes (which is fine but I assume not the interest of most here), then I don't feel there is much more to say here about this card.
Not being able to block is a much bigger deal on a 4-drop than it is on a 1-drop. And having to pay more if there's more creatures is a significant problem for the kinds of decks that would want a creature like this. I think it's safe to pass on for cubes, outside of a huge cube with a deep recursion theme.
I don't want my lords to be 4 drops, I don't want my 4 drops to be unable to block, and I don't want my recursion to have counter-synergy with other recursive elements. Seems like a whole lot of rubbsh.

That phrase made me lol partly because I haven't heard it in about 25 years and partly because it very clearly captured my feelings on this card.
At 4/3 for 4, this would need a good ability or two to be cube-worthy. The boost for zombies won't matter very often, and certainly not enough to offset two lackluster abilities. Pass.
