No. Since creatures aren't dying most of the time, this isn't better most of the time. Creatures die often, but certainly not most of the time. There will be far more cases where Morbid is inactive during a given state in the game than when it would be active. Not every card needs to be super consistent, but consistency is critical with burn spells and removal spells in particular. I think this card is significantly better than Brimstone Volley.
After having played Brimstone Volley in cube for quite a while and ultimately cutting it, I can say with confidence that this card is most likely better than Brimstone Volley. The amount of times that morbid actually triggered was very few in the grand scheme of things. FWIW, I don't think cards are ***** when they aren't 100% consistent, but if their consistency drops well below the 50% mark, it's probably not good enough. Brimstone Volley was consistently a three mana, three damage burn spell and that's not good enough in the cube.
I had a string of times where staggershock was meh, cut it and haven't missed it.
This card is good, but unless you run HEAVY burn, not good enough to crack anything under 450.. And likely closer to 540+ range.
In theory I like it more than staggershock, flame javalin and brimstone volley, less than char and stoke the flames.
For those who haven't tried it, I'm confident stoke the flames is better than char.
4 damage on burn for 3 mana is solid. What it loses on instant speed it makes up for part of it in uncounterability.
Agreed. Solid burn option for medium-sized cubes, better than the second/third-tier burn spells, but worse than the staples. It's absolutely better than Pyrotechnics, Rift Bolt, Flame Javelin and Brimstone Volley, as examples of 3rd tier (or worse) burn spells.

I really want Staggershock to be good .. the rebound sounds great for spells matters/ storm and as a 4 damage for 3 mana sounds like a decent rate ...
