Card is obviously good and should make it in, but the cut to fit in another white 4-drop will be harsh. It puts Ajani Goldmane, Spear of Heliod, and Exalted Angel on my possible chopping block.

I like that each character now has a card at 4CC, possibly the ideal casting cost for them. Anyone running Ajani Steadfast or Ajani, Caller of the Pride should consider Gideon an upgrade. Goldmane is too important and too good at his job to be sidelined.
This is definitely going in. I don't want to cut any of the white 'walkers I currently run but I also don't want to end up with 50 planeswalkers in a few more years. I'll have to ponder and test to see what gets cut for this.
Obviously very good. I guess he is about on par with Elspeth, Knight-Errant. It's nice that you could activate the ultimate right away, if you'd need to. It will rarely be used that way, but it's extra flexibility. This is a walker that you don't really need to grow, so 0 make a 2/2 is probably better than +1 make a 1/1, but Elsbeth's reach is more important than Gideon's chump-blockable body.
I guess I agree with everyone that Goldmane is still uncutable. I will probably give Gid a test over Dictate of Heliod or something. There are a few things about this card that make me feel icky though:
1) My white section PWs are Kytheos, Goldman, Knight Errant, Gideon, and Big Speth. WHY DOES WHITE GET ALL THE PW LOVE! Do I really want 6 walkers in white while red and black only have 2?
2) White gets ANOTHER bonkers 4cc card. Sigh.
3) While this Gid is super powerful, he doesn't feel like he's breaking new ground. Just an all around solid PW in typical white fashion. I like him for sure, but he is a little boring.
The steady stream of solid PW kill cards we've received recently has removed my previously held worries of warping the play environment due to PW oversaturation. Seeing this guy printed makes me want to run the new sorcery Hero's Downfall even more.
Well I still run Glorious Anthem so I guess he replaces that. Will be going up to 5 walkers in white 6 if Kytheon flips. I don't feel amazing about cutting any of the other white walkers for him though personally.
I cut Goldmane a while ago for caller of the pride and feel ok about it as I like the walkers spread across more cmcs, and I only like him in the creature heavy white decks. This card is certainly powerful but I am not even remotely excited. I will probably find room, maybe cutting big Gideon.
He just seems sooooo much like planeswalkers we have already have
My cut will probably be Spear of Heliod. That being said, in order to balance out our new PW overlords, I'll probably be making the following changes in other sections.
- Swap out The Abyss for Ruinous Path. The Abyss really shines in Superfriends and I feel cutting it for a card that deals with PWs feels appropriate, plus I've been looking for an excuse to cut it because it extends games like no other card in my cube.
- Sorin, Solemn Visitor for Utter End. I feel that the new Gideon is just a better version of Sorin 3.0 so that frees me up a slot for another versatile and underrated PW removal spell.
This guy is an auto-include in any cube that run at least 360 cards. I like the design very much. Pretty unique for a mono-white card. He helps Wildfire, he helps aggro, helps control and decent in midrange. Simply : Wow! At first, I was like : «Ah... Just another classic Gideon's design.» And then, I read the 0's and Ultimate and was like : «Euh... What the f***?! A aggro Gideon!». Really good piece of card. Period. The only problem is its CMC. Cube managers will certainly get a headache finding a spot for him.
It's clearly a very good card... but it's unexciting. It's another 'good-stuff' White PW, which is the last colour that needed that. At the four slot as well, which already has many very good PWs? I would have taken an equivalent-powered PW at any other cost or colour really, but I guess I should make room for new Gideon.
Played new Gid in a WUR walker control deck last night. His 0 ability is obviously very strong, and totally took over a game. Overall I was impressed with his power level. There are board states where every other white walker is preferable, but new Gid is just solid all around. I'll be playing him long term.
After a seeing new Gid in play several times I've decided to cut him from my 540 for being boring an unnecessary. I just don't need three 2WW walkers in my cube and he is basically just a mashup of Elspeth Knight Errant, Ajani Goldmane, and Gideon Jura. My replacement? Angelic Destiny. Lol. Definitely a step down in power level but it's a card I really like and my group has been asking me to bring back for a while now. It completely terrorizes opposing walkers and gives white aggro a bit more reach, which is always welcome.
I think it's anything but boring and unnecessary. It has three distinct and useful abilities, and plays really different from one game to the next. Super versatile and does a lot of different things.
I agree that it has useful and distinct abilities, but they are all things one can find elsewhere in white. Make tokens? Check. Anthem? Check. Be an efficient beater? Check. I totally get that it's the combination of abilities that makes new Gid desirable for cube, but he just doesn't float our boat and has always kind of been a random good stuff card for us. In all likelihood Angelic Destiny is going to be a failed experiment and Gid will return like the prodigal son, but for now we just aren't all that excited to cube with him.
I am really suprised that someone would consider Ajani Goldmane more interesting than Gideon, Ally of Zendikar. Ajani is pretty much the poster child for a "one ability" planeswalker. It is really rare that any one of his abilities besides his -1 get used. Gideon on the other hand has three valuable abilities that all have their pros and cons and it depends on the specific situation to figure out which one is the best to use that turn. Yes, all of them are pretty effective, as is the whole package, so it is hard to get no value out of him. Still, I think having 3 good abilities makes him a much more interesting planeswalker than Ajani.
I am making this swap as soon as Gideon's price drops. Ajani does a good job as an anthem though, so I am in no hurry to make this swap, but I am sure that I will eventually do it. (I don't want to run three planeswalkers for 2WW and Elspeth, Knight-Errant is pretty much uncuttable.)
At 540, I can run both Ajani and Gideon without notice any problem. In order to do that, I started cut creatures at the 4CC slot instead. Mainly because Elspeth can perfectly take some kind of a creature role in decks that play it, as the new Ally of Zendikar. But if a new 4 mana planeswalker gets printed, I would have to find another solution because I'm out of creature's cut options.

That seems pretty wrong to me. But you're so damn right, the white 4-drop slot is so f***** stack, OMG.
