I was wondering if someone have already experienced the Hexproof archetype in a unpowered to semi-powered cube. It's not like I was looking at adding this to the full powered cube I run at the moment, but I was thinking about making a second cube, maybe a unpowered one, and include this as a possible strategy. How does it went for you? Is it viable in nonpauper cube? What cards have you tried? What are the staples and cornerstones? Just curious a bit.
I personnally think stuff like Gladecover Scout, Slippery Bogle and Invisible Stalker are must. Same as Rancor and other Hexproof creatures, but what else? What type of Auras do people use to run? Any support to the bodies and weapons? Pieces of equipment? Etc.
What do you guys thinks about Hexproof in regular nonpauper cubes ?
Both the hexproof creatures and the auras are underwhelming on their own and the payoff isn't even that great. Out of all these cards I've only cubed Invisible Stalker, it was subpar and that was years ago.
Trying to 'port something like the Modern Bogles archetype into cube sounds pretty poisonous to me to me. All of the cards that you've listed are terrible on their own aside from Grafted Wargear, which is already a cube staple and maybe Griffin Guide (although the competition for white 3s is pretty fierce. Absolutely no deck is going to want anything like Invisible Stalker, Slippery Bogle, or Silhana Ledgewalker unless they're going all in on a Voltron strategy. The single-mana Totem Armor auras look pretty bad to me too, outside of a dedicated Voltron deck, they just don't seem impactful enough.
Still, some cube staples do lend themselves pretty well to a Voltron strategy, and you're already running most of them (Geist of Saint Traft, Thrun, the Last Troll, True-Name Nemesis, Rancor, full cycle of Swords, Bonesplitter, Grafted Wargear, etc.). Here are a few more cards whose power level I think is close enough to be worth considering if you're interested in pushing a Voltron/Hexproof archetype:
Dudes:
Auras that don't always give up card advantage:
I'd also consider adding some Exalted effects on top of Qasali Pridemage and Noble Hierarch, especially creatures that could wear auras and equipment, like:
You'll probably also want to up your equipment count, too. I know you already posted in the Middling Equipment thread, so I'm sure you could get some good ideas there.
If you decide to go ahead with this, please let us know how it goes!

If I do decide to put together this strategy in order to put it in the cube, it will be part of a completly new cube in which will feature only narrow archetypes that can be on a equal footing with Hexproof. It will be a cube dedictate to people wanting to quest for weird archetypes and where classic basis aren't present. For example, green identity could mainly be Hexproof and other colors could also have marginal identity. I need to brainstorm on which exactly though.
I just wanted it to be clear for everyone to ensure we discuss about the right thing. But thanks for sharing your ideas. Those Auras seems nice!
