I also like Lodestone Golem more than this card. This card is colorless. But it's not colorless in a sense that it's playable in ANY deck like most other colorless cards in magic. It's playable only in decks that can reliably produce colorless mana. That is a ton more restrictive.
Are we at the point yet where we can create a separate thread to discuss how we might implement a colorless only section?
I'd really like to hear people's ideas on that. Some of the C cards are tempting, but I'd have to make a lot of changes to my cube's manabase to make them playable. I'm really curious about how people are planning to support them, especially at 465 or less.

465 card Unpowered cube thread. Draft it here and I'll be happy to return the favor.

It's solid, but 4+ is way too stacked with good fair creatures in colours that have an easier time casting than this.
I'm a big fan of sculler type effects, and play them a lot, but the cheapness on them is integral to their usefulness.
Although , I do like the idea of ramp decks having access to an effect like this against blue decks. snipe their annoying control magic effects to resolve your bomb.
Unfortunately with the Colorless restriction and its competition I think this is a safe pass in anything but the largest cubes.
Obviously you have to fully enable colorless matters in your cube for this to be good. It's not worth considering if you can't reliably cast it when you hit 4 mana.
That being said, I think people are putting too much emphasis on the times when they have no good spells, and ignoring the fact that when that happens you just put a big body on the board and they have no way of dealing with it and have to topdeck out of it. When your failcase is "my opponent has no relevant cards in hand" is something I'm more than willing to live with.
That's fair. If you're supporting C mana, this is a solid 4-drop. Especially since you're 4-drops will likely only be pooled from one color. I plan on testing it; I was just playing devil's advocate to make sure there was a complete evaluation, and trying to point out where the wording on the effect could prove to be a relevant drawback. I'm hoping for the best, since I'll be testing this in my new C section.
It's not as nasty as it is in constructed, but if you're supporting a C section, the cost is easy enough that it's playable in those decks. I would say good in the cube, but not amazing.
How is this card doing? I haven't got one yet and need to know if I should get it
Definitely not a staple but it's REALLY solid and we are very much enjoying it. Cube needs more effects like this IMO and, while C is restrictive, this creature is playable in like 98% of cube decks if you can get your manabase together. I've played in aggro, control, ramp, ect to great effect.
They can do the same thing with this card*, and if they do they get the draw. I also like Lodestone Golem much more than this one.
* okay, I admit, 1 more thoughness does make it less vulnarable to bolts, and it can't be disenchanted.
