Scourge WolfRR
Creature - Wolf Horror
First Strike
Delirium - Scourge Wolf has double strike as long as there are four or more card types among cards in your graveyard.
2/2
This card probably won't make small or medium cubes. It might not even make the cut in large cubes either.
However I think it warrants discussion. It is again a card that depends on the variance of the delirium keyword. I think that red is probably the color that can satisfy the delirium restriction faster than the others. A red aggro deck can use a couple of sorcery/instant burn spells that may kill a creature. Combined with a fetch land, I don't think it is unreasonable that this creature has double strike on turn ~4. I wish it cost 1R however.
What do you think? Is it better/worse than the more fringe red 2-drops? (Gore-House Chainwalker, Borderland Marauder, Ash Zealot)
land + instant + sorcery should be fairly easy in burn based decks, the 4th type is a little bit more tricky, as you either need some enchantment (enchantment creatures like Eidolon come to mind).
That said, it might be a real card for red based Robots in Modern, as you get Delirium fairly easy with artifact/land/creature and your affinity spells of choice.
In the end, its still a little bit underwhelming, as you need a lot of hoops to jump just to get a 2/2 double strike , especially if you compare it to something like Mirran Crusader and in color Prophetic Flamespeaker.
But theres a little bit potential as you really only need 1 big hit with a double striker that gets a power boost.
So far I have been highly disappointed with the delirium triggers. This thing still trades with 2/3s. After culling all my RR cards I would be open to bringing one in but it has to be better than this. Maybe if it were active 90% of turns 3s instead of 2%.
I would imagine that decks that can support this mana cost on an aggro creature won't often be the ones achieving delirium, even if they do get to throw around instants and sorceries with impunity. In any case, getting an Iroas's Champion for 2 mana is a nice rate, but not something I'd be willing to go out of my way for.
It is worse then all the options OP gave. Your cube should really be quite large to support such a fringe two drop, or have a very strong madness/threshold thing going on in red.
Needed to cast 1R, have menace, or get +1+1 off delirium for me to consider this, pass as is since I'd rather play other RR cards like Blood Knight and Eidolon.
.....depends on the flavor of the deck
T1: b/r land, (1)duress or despise or (2)molten vortex or (3)sinister concoction
T2: mountain, (1)s-wolf or (2)vessel of volatility
T3: (1)evolving wilds or (2)swamp or mountain or (3)colorless land
(1)Call of the moon or (2)dead weight or (3)spatial contortion or (4)pitch land to vortex or (5)s-wolf or (6)infectious bloodlust or (7)sin prodder
So many different ways to get this guy going in the right direction before even talking about T4. My fav sequence is
T1: b/r land duress a kill spell
T2: land vessel of volatility
T3:land activate vessel s-wolf enchant with infectious bloodlust land to lighting axe to remove blocker........swing with 4/3 haste double striker!!!!!

Or artifacts in case you might run Shrapnel Blast / Galvanic Blast , equip a Cranial Plating and this is allmost 1 hit kill.
