Obsessive Skinner 1G
Creature - Human Rogue
When Obsessive Skinner enters the battlefield, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature.
Delirium — At the beginning of each opponent's upkeep, if there are four or more card types among cards in your graveyard, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature.
1/1
Since I saw this card spoiled I thought it had some potential. There probably will not be room for this card in high powered small and medium lists though.
As a turn 2 play, it can add a hasty damage to your 1-drop while offering some late game reach.
As a top deck in late game it can alter combat math in your favor and keep growing your creatures to the most optimal board state for you.
I think it competes with Strangleroot Geist for an aggresive green 2-drop and I have a feeling that this card may be better.
What are your thoughts?
This card is nowhere near as good as Strangleroot Geist. Especially not for aggro decks. And Geist isn't even that great. I think Skinner is just really, really bad.
Imma let you finish, but Duskwatch Recruiter is the best green 2 drop of the set.
That said, I'm not too hot on Obsessive Skinner outside of SoI limited. I think it's too slow in the cube as a whole to get any good value out of it. Early, this thing will be no more than a Grizzly Bears, but late... probably not the draw you're looking for.
Green probably has the hardest time getting delirium online, so it's going to be a 2/2 bear most of the time. Even then, +1/+1 counter each turn isn't particularly impressive.
At green 2CMC, you either need a good utility (mana dorks / Wild Mongrel / Scavenging Ooze) or a stat monster (Tarmogoyf / Sylvan Advocate) to compete and this guy is waaay slower than Goyf / Advocate.
This was great for me at the pre-release but getting delirium online in SOI limited is WAY easier than it will be in cube. This card is nowhere near cubable IMHO, although I'd strongly consider it if the upkeep trigger was always online.
I think the blue and black parts of this cycle are actually pretty close to inclusion, but this one is the third best of the cycle.
That's funny . I think the blue and black cards of the cycle are the worst .
They are all decent though. Any peasant cube would probably take a closer look at these.

And okay. I won't swap it for Strangleroot Geist then . Thanks for the feedback everyone.
