Night man is pretty far up the list of my favorite cards, because even in a power environment he plays so many rolls. He's efficient enough to fit in black-x aggro, life-link helps midrange stabilize, and he's an early/mid game beater for control. I love the fact that an innocuous uncommon can do a lot of work in powered cubes.
I worked thirds for a long time and absolutely loved it, but I recently lost that job and now I get up fairly early. So I guess I'm both.
Hearing all of this praise for Vampire Nighthawk is making me reconsider if it should be in my own cube. I had assumed that, with the decent black three drops released in the past couple years, that Vampire Nighthawk's french vanilla-ness and 1BB casting cost were no longer good enough for cube, but I guess not?
I currently work nights, so that definitely makes me more of a night owl, but I never had problems waking up early when I worked during the day. I've always stayed up late, though, and have had troubles getting a full night's rest for one reason or another.
I cut Nighthawk a while back due to the 1BB cost and generally being not that interesting to my drafters. I wish there were a ready replacement that was a bit more exciting.
I'm definitely a morning person. Coffee, early morning dogwalks before the world is out, and getting to work before the other teachers allows me some peaceful, productive time, so I can bug out at 3:45 and not feel bad.

I loved working nights, and still miss it.
Nighthawk is just such a versatile creature its hard to think of a limited format that it would be bad in. I can see it being less good in super combo centric cubes, but I don't think that's most cubes.
I like the green Gearhulk. 8 power and trample is a good rate for 5 mana, but the ability to distribute the counters is what makes the card good. Even if they can deal with the main body, bolstering the stats of the rest of your board to give you profitable attacks and blocks is really valuable.
I like quite a few comics and graphic novels. Berserk, Sin City, Watchmen, Walking Dead ...and even a few of the Star Wars comic arcs are decent. I loved the Ashley Wood Metal Gear Solid series too; amazing artwork.
gear hulk is sweet. great with a big board and great on an empty board. replaced wolfir silverheart with him and havent looked back!
I hate superheroes but enjoy some comics. The walking dead was my first series then Y: The Last Man which I really enjoyed. I've also started Robert Kirkman's new comic called Outcast which has been great so far.
Gearhulk is great, but I just don't have room at 450. If I expanded to 540, it would be in.
I'm not currently reading any comics other than Saga. I'm interested in the Vader Down story from the Star Wars comic. My all-time fave is Sandman. It's probably my favorite thing I've ever read. Watchman and Alan Moore's Swamp Thing are genius, and I liked Concrete, Astro City, and Sin City.
I actually just added Gearhulk in for a test run based on some opinions I've seen around here. I'm looking forward to trying him out.
I've been collecting comics since the early 90s and still have a monthly pull list at my local shop. I'm currently picking up the Brian Michael Bendis Marvel books (Defenders by him has been amazing) as well as Saga, Walking Dead, and Southern Bastards from Image.
I'm planning to replace the clearly worse Kalonian Hydra with this guy in my cube once it rotates out of standard and/or drops a bit in price. I'm still kind of surprised that this thing got printed at these stats, though, since its base mode of an 8/8 trampler for 3GG is way above the curve for a creature with this kind of upside/flexibility. Being able to spread half of that power around to make your whole team bigger than your opponent's seems very strong, especially if you have any way to abuse this guy's ETB trigger.
I don't agree that the Hydra is worse. If you have an empty board, Hydra kills in two turns while Gearhulk kills in three. Hydra also has some incidental value by increasing counters on other creatures. It works well with Gearhulk. That said, in a 450 cube, Hydra is going to be my cut for Carnage Tyrant, so I'm not going to the mat for it. At 540, I'd find room for both Hydra and Gearhulk, which probably wouldn't be hard being that green sixes and fours aren't that deep.
I think Outburst is a fringe playable in cubes either all-in on the red token theme, the sacrifice deck or the Jeskai spells-matters deck. Very likely, all 3 shells need to be major players before it's worth including. It would be quite appealing at 2R (or if the tokens had haste) though, so it's not that far off from being playable on its own. Also a likely include with a goblin tribal subtheme too.
It's fine but it feels underpowered. MODO has loved running it, and when you have anthem/token stuff it works and sometimes without it having 3 1/1s is good too, but there are enough other options for me to not run it and not feel like I'm missing anything.
Last outburst, maybe when I was a child? Living angry/enraged is a tiring way to live, I'm generally a pretty positive person. Being alive is ******* amazing, no reason to blow up about it.
Hordeling Outburst didn't make it for its, either, although since I'm trying to support tokens and spells, maybe I should give it a shot? Really wish it was 2R, though. I also wish that red got some spells that made tokens with haste, like white gets spirits with flying.
Great constructed card, not very good in cube. Reanimation mode is too fair; flashback cost is too steep. It may only be the 3rd best 4cc reanimation spell, of which I run 0 of.
Yeah, Dread Return is not a good cube card. Obviously does some work in Dredge decks, but that archetype just doesn't translate over to cube. If you're looking for a 4cc reanimation spell, you're better off looking at Diabolic Servitude or Makeshift Mannequin.
Kiora is fine, her ultimate kills reliably and quickly. However she is not a natural fit to the strategy of most U/G decks, she is just a good card, and at that role she is simply not powerful enough.

Used to stay up late all the time with my old shift, but working mornings it's hard for me to stay up past 9 pm at this point.
