So it seems like there is going to be a cycle of conspiracies that require a certain color to be good. They don't look to be amazingly powerful but even just giving something haste last time was seriously underrated so I wanted to at least discuss these ones as they come out.
The black one looks like it could be good with Recurring Nightmare or as Wrath insurance for an aggro deck.
The green one looks cool too but might not have as much combo potential? A growing green attacking creature or something with persist could be neat?
I like the green one more than the black one. Choosing when you want to activate it seems stronger than needing black always open, plus the persist shenanigans are always relevant.
Pretty awesome design. So excited for the full spoilers.
Neither of them seem powerful when compared with the original Hidden Agenda conspiracies. The green one might be playable as a slow Scavenging Ooze ability that combos well with +1/+1 counter matters guys, but costing mana and being color restrictive really takes away from what was powerful about these cards in the first place. Part of what made us forgive them taking away from the playable count was that they could go into any deck.
The green one seems decent, the black one reminds me too much of Relentless Dead, too much timing has to go into it and the payoff isn't even that great especially since Cube is typically a singleton format.
Am I the only one who thinks the green one seems worse than the black one, or at least not that great? Both of these cards demand that you have mana to spare, but the green one can only be used at the beginning of your combat. That seems much more restrictive to me than having B open at a point when a creature might die. You can't play with the stack and the opponent can respond to it much more easily. This makes the possibility of Finks shenanigans seem pretty low to me, I would much rather name Thrun or TNN with this. Maybe I'm missing something.
They both seem like pretty ok cards but as said, cards that don't actually go into your deck AND demand certain colors seem weaker than the more general conspiracies. Not sure if I'd run them (540 unpowered). How many Conspiracy/Draft-matters cards do people generally run in their sections?
Conspiracies are very strong, basically every deck that plays creatures and the conspiracy's color will want them. I will try both but I'd be very surprised if I ever cut one of them. I agree Natural Unity is the stronger one, both for Woodfall Primus shenanigans and because even turning a mana elf late game into a serviceable attacker is plenty good. Assemble the Rank and Vile indeed has serious timing restrictions. It will be fun in stacks decks, or with Bone Shredder.
If you cube hosts a blue or blue/green tempo archtype, then that new conspiracy would be a good inclusion, IMO. Being able to double looter il-kor gains, drawing a constant stream of bounce and counter effects could seal the game quite early. This blue conspiracy, with Edric out would be nuts!
If I slot one conspiracy or draft-affecting card per color, Hired Heist obviously doesn't make the cut unless Arcane Savant proves to be too busted. Although Hired Heist + Meloku is very cool.
Rank and Vile is going to be awesome. Even ignoring the best case scenario of Gravecrawler, black has enough ways to get a few triggers off it.
I'm not thrilled with Natural Unity because my cube already has a lot of persist abuse, but it's also a solid add-on to any hard-to-kill threat.
One of the things I like about the green conspiracy is that it also gives the chosen creature kind of a kicker of +1/+1 for G, since you can cast a creature pre-combat and get the bonus that turn. A nice way to smooth curves in some instances too.

Not sure how useful this is, mostly good with things with no evasion. Indestructible Hero of Bladehold seems good I guess.
