MTG Salvation

Maybe this is not good enough in a world where Mirran Crusader is either being cut or in the chopping block for many people, but I like that it has a (reasonable, IMO) built-in way to grow itself. Is this reasonable for Cube, or is this just Fabled Hero 2.0?

It's certainly better than Fabled Hero, but that's an extremely low floor. I could see this in super large cubes but I think the protections of Mirran Crusader and the ability to share double strike with Silverblade Paladin are worth a decent amount more than the fairly inconsistent trigger.

That is why I kept silverblade longer than crusader. (And it was my last protection creature which just made some match ups feel bad). I'm not sure how often you an trigger it but you can usually force trades with white and isn't a terrible target to blink. Getting a second counter on this seems tricky and that frequency will make or break this thing. Too bad it is not a human otherwise it my have a few more minor synergies to make me try it.

I also like this better than the other white 3cmc double strikers, but I still don't think my cube needs it. Pass for me but if it blows up in testing results I could be tempted to give it a try. I do love me some double strike.

I think Mirran Crusader is clearly better, unless you have uncanny hatred of protection

It's not a bad 3-drop, and can be just as good as Mirran Crusader once you factor in the matches where the protections don't do anything. I don't know at what size the double-striking 3-drops become good enough to see play, but this one might be good enough for 720. Especially if you're opposed to protections.

I like this a lot more than Silverblade Paladin.

I feel like this guy should be a 3/3 more often than not by the time he is ready to attack, and if so that's a pretty solid threat for 3 mana. How have the results been with him? Not sure who I would cut if I tried to squeeze him in.
