I saw this card while looking through a sellers collection and it caught my eye.
A 4/4 flyer for 3 mana is above curve and the drawback of discarding cards can be mitigated or turned into a benefit in the right deck. Paying for the cumulative upkeep more than once will often not be worth it since you only get to draw cards equal to the number of age counters and not the total number of discarded cards. However it is nice that the option is there if you just need to keep the pressure on.
You can get blown out by exile effects if you have discarded cards to the Sphinx, but once you discard the first card, you will have untapped all your lands and you will be able to use the countermagic you might have in your hand.
I would not consider the card for small or medium sized cubes, but at my size (720), I am considering to try it out over Kira, Great Glass-Spinner or Thassa, God of the Sea. I could see it be better than those cards in a UX tempo shell or UB reanimator. What are your thoughts on it?
I've cubed with this before, and if it leaves play without dying, it's an utter blowout. Not worth the risk given the concentration of exile-based removal now.
