I'm surprised that no one made a thread for this card yet.
Sure it is expensive, but 7 mana is quite easy to reach in a GX ramp deck where this card will shine.
I think the ACS would be getting back a hasty 4/4 mana dork each turn. However imagine if you have a Mulldrifter in the 'yard (or hand) or something like Eternal Witness, Kalonian Hydra, Reclamation Sage, Primeval Titan.
To preface: this isn't going to be much of an option for the thinnest and most powerful cubes (meaning most of the people on this forum), but for a larger/ more casual cube, this is a pretty cool card, and one without an exact replacement. I'm considering it for my cube.
Debtors' Knell is certainly a powerful card, and this is a colorless option (though being restricted to your own grave is annoying). The 4/4 bit makes this operate less like a traditional reanimate card, and is kind of a cool sidestep, but is more downside than upside most of the time. Nevertheless, this can certainly take over a game quickly.
This does avert the first red flag of a card of its kind: you don't have to get to the upkeep for value. The main thing limiting this card's playability is that it has two serious requirements in your deck-building. First, you have to be able to get to the late game for a seven drop, and second you kind of need to reliably get a graveyard full of targets, since this can run out of gas pretty easily. That's definitely not every deck, but it's not that tall of an order.
This is a card that interests me quite a bit. I'm leaning currently against adding it, but I may sway.
I like the idea of having a non-creature tinker daretti target (feels a bit more resilliant against certain decks), but I don't know if this is it as it relies heavily on you having creatures in your graveyard and that is something those decks can't always guarantee.
Big ramp decks could maybe make better use out of it but in their case they might have better things to cast for 7. ETB decks like it but they usually aren't looking to cast 7 drops.
It's a really cool card but I don't know where I would find the room.
Triggering on combat is nice, but only hitting your graveyard makes this really narrow. I like Debtor's Knell much more and I'm a far cry from even playing that.
This card being colorless and allowing the first attack TWO turns before you would get with Debtors' Knell is a pretty huge upgrade from my perspective. Requires more specific building around as you can't just kill your opponents creatures and beat them down with em, but I feel the upside is worth it.
I was considering testing the Gate since I support aristocrats quite heavily and that might give them a long game option. Might make the Gift a bit easier too? Probably just a bit to cute though.

I think I will try this card out.
