MTG Salvation

Definitely the best Cavalier for blue and blue 5’s are super thin. I run four 6 drops (Consecrated Sphinx, Torrential Gearhulk, Aetherling, Will Kenrith) so maybe I can trim some fat to test this guy. I like Kefnet more, but this Cavalier is definitely in the running for me. CCC on a 5 drop is not the end of the world, as those that with experience with Kiki know.

Brainstorm ETB is cool, but it isn't a ton of value you're getting if this gets killed--especially if it gets exiled. I like Kefnet much more as it comes down faster and has exceptional recursion in a color that can make it even better--also its ability creates a fun minigame of sorts. I agree this is the best of the cycle, but the cycle isn't great to begin with. It has the advantage of being a 5CC blue creature which is a very weak cube slot, but I don't think this is enough for me. I need my Blue Doom Whisperer/Bontu....lol.

One again blue wins the best of the cycle. I love how green is supposed to be best/most efficient in the color pie but the premier cycles at rare or mythic always make them very similar cmc and p/t giving the edge to blue with its better abilities. As far as this cars though, it is fine, just nothing remarkable.

Is brainstorm+shuffle+scry 2 good enough to pass the Vindicate test? I‘d cautiously say yes. And a 5/5 flying for 5 is a significant board presence if the creature doesn‘t get „vindicated“ (as has been mentioned before, exiling removal hurts).

I feel like this would definitely be in my 540 at 3UU but at 2UUU I have concerns. Will test it on Friday and report back.

I have 9 things in my cube that exile rather than kill, so that's a pretty minor downside. It's crazy that 5 years ago this card would have been a windmill slam, 5/5 flyer for 5 that brainstorms ETB and scrys 2 on death (I also like the cute little detail that you can scry yourself closer to redrawing it after you shuffle it in).

This might be the card that finally kills Miloku for us, but every time I start to think Miloku is unimpressive it crushes a draft.

I like the interaction WITH Kefnet coming down the turn after to set up spells you want to hit, or drawing right back into it after getting removed.
