The name has been confirmed by Maro on this one and there are no mistakes present to my knowledge on the picture we do have so I think it is a safe bet that this is real, but I left unconfirmed in the thread title until we have official word.
The Royal Scions1UR
Legendary Planeswalker - Will Rowan (M)
+1 : Draw a card then discard a card.
+1 : Target creature gets +2/+0 and gains first strike and trample until eot.
-8 : Draw 4 cards. When you do, The Rowal Scions deal damage to any target equal to the number of cards in your hand.

Man does Izzet get some disgustingly good Planeswalkers or what?! Dack Fayden, Saheeli, Sublime Artificer and now this?! In my estimation this is probably better than Saheeli and worse than Dack.
This card looks fantastic! 6 loyalty on turn 3 is no joke. Early in the game or at parody you're going to get a few loots off of it while completely distracting your opponent. Then when you're the aggressor this just wins the game. +2/+0 first strike AND trample. That's a hard race to win when facing down those creatures.
I think this card is fine, but unexciting. High loyalty count is nice, but in the end it's just a looter that'll randomly pump a token. I don't think this unseats 4-cmc / WAR Saheeli at all.
It depends. Each of the planeswalkers in contribute value to their respective decks. Hybrid Saheeli supports spells matters. 4cc Saheeli supports the artifact.dec. Ral Zarek supports Vault combo. This one is best suited for tempo, I suppose, but it's overall just great. I think it depends on what kinds of decks you support to make up which UR 'walkers you want to play. Other than Dack Fayden, of course, which is just a ridiculous bomb and goes into everything.
If this is real it's going to be hard not to play. It's just so much loyalty, repeatable looting and additional pressure. Great value for 3 mana.
I think this is the 4th best izzet walker behind Saheeli the Gifted, Dack, and Saheeli Sublime Artificer.
Yeah, it's at 6 loyalty, but it doesn't protect itself and frankly is pretty ignorable until it's threatening 8? I don't think this cracks it for my cube, but I could be wrong. 3 cmc PW's are hard to evaluate.
I think 6 loyalty is the protection. The looting is good value, and the second +1 will push through damage or act as removal. Big fan of the card, but not a big fan of running 3 walkers, even though they all fit into different shells.

I can't say I'm pleased to see you and must warn you I may have to do something about it.

I actually like this (these?) walker(s) in my unpowered 540 more than Dack. I don't run reanimator or have all that many artifacts in my environment so Dack is pretty much just an attack-able Faithless Looting emblem. Obviously that's crazy good, but he's narrow and I haven't missed him since I cut reanimator/tinker shenanigans.
The Royal Scions loot is exactly half as good, the other +1 solid in aggressive tempo decks and the ultimate is better.
I hope this isn't the real card. It's boring as beans. Sure it's good, but that's all. I guess that's how I feel about most mythic planeswalker though.
Edit: Card is real. It's my least favorite pushed Izzet walker.
Card is confirmed now. I suspect they are very good. The middle ability reminds me of Elspeth, Knight-Errant's pump ability - from now on they'll just have to kill every single creature you cast or The Royal Scions themselves. Don’t have a creature to pump? Loot into one. I predict like Elspeth, the pump will be used to murder planeswalkers often and make yet more rot useless in hands as they have no way to survive it. The Scions work well with Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin.
I think this card is quite strong, and you could include in many lists. However, I prefer Dack on power-level, and both Saheelis for archetypal diversity. I'm not really interested in a generic goodstuff walker to go alongside Dack.
Yes, thanks. I'll be cutting Sahili, the Gifted and keeping Sublime Artificer. StG has been good for us when she makes decks but she proved to be a little too niche and hasn't seen enough main decks. I'll also be trying Niv-Mizzet, Parun in my next update to try to focus more on spells.
Didn't reply to the thread because I dislike this card emotionally. Feels too plain and has minimal synergies... But I respect it as very powerful.
We played a couple cubes last night and I saw royal scions the most out of any card. One in my teammates 4 color midrange pile and the other as a splash in my GR aggressive deck.
It became clear to me that like most planeswalkers that can't protect themselves, it's great on offense, but pretty bad on defense. However, it's loyalty is so high, that it still gains value if it's removed via damage in the form of looting + lifegain. In my GR agro deck it felt good, as it allowed some of my beefier creatures to pierce through board stalls with first strike + trample. (Thrunn, whisper-wood elemental, rabblemaster vs WB tokens).
My guess it's this is one of those cards I test out for a while, and cut for a card that is slightly lower power level but more interesting/synergistic.
I'm still really torn on this one. I am expanding my guild sections to 5 cards (as part of my cube expansion to 500 cards) with a max of 2 PW's per guild. I already have Dack Fayden and I'm not sure whether I should run Saheeli, Sublime Artificer or this? The Royal Scions has some redundancy with Dack Fayden with the first ability and can help aggro/tempo with the second...on the other hand Saheeli, Sublime Artificer lends support to artifacts which is an archetype I'm trying to make small improvements towards (but I'm not going all in on it either).
