Murderous Rider1BB
Creature — Zombie Knight (R)
Lifelink
When Murderous Rider dies, put it on the bottom of it's owner's library.
2/3
— Swift End1BB
Instant — Adventure
Destroy target creature or planeswalker. You lose 2 life.
Lifelinking Zombie Knight that can be cast as Hero's Downfall, then cast to regain the lost life, and tutored with creature tutors? Looks solid to me.
Sorry originally had sorcery listed for Swift End...it is an INSTANT. The guy who I copy/pasted had it wrong...
I'd like this a lot more if Swift End were an instant, even with the life loss. Still worth considering... not sure what a cut for testing would be here.

On first glance, I feel like this is a pretty solid upgrade from Never // Return. The lifeloss isn't great, but the creature you get is better and helps to mitigate the loss of life. The only downside I can see when comparing the two would be if this gets countered, you don't get the creature payoff later, but that feels like a corner case.
Edit: Also, it's an instant, which is why Hero's Downfall is better than Never // Return despite not having the 2/2 value later on.
This is definitely not an amazing card that should be in cubes of all sizes, but I think it's good.
Sorry....the person who posted the original post in the rumor mill got it wrong and I copy/pasted for expediency....yes, the spell is instant speed which is why I referenced hero's downfall.
Note to self: Slow down posting the spoilers....lol. Keep making critical typos!
Auto-include imo, the lifeloss and card type shift from hero's downfall is easily worth drawing a free 1BB 2/3 lifelink.
Also against agro, you may just want to run out the 2/3 lifelink mode and not use the hero's downfall mode, so that option has an advantage.
Nothing not to like about this card besides the lifeloss:
- The first instant speed Hero's Downfall we've gotten since Anguished Unmaking
- Being a creature gives Survival of the Fittest / other creature based tutor spells access to cheap planeswalker removal
- Two relevant creature types
- Lifelink is always nice in black
This seems like the best 3 mana black removal spell. I think you play this in all cubes of all sizes unless creatures are irrelevant or you don't play with Planeswalkers or something like that.

Funny, because I don't know we will put this in our cube
This is likely better than Hero's Downfall even. The creature version is actually more relevant than it reads. You'd play it anytime the spell mode is unplayable, mostly when you are against aggro or a token army when the removal isn't worth the mana and card, or when your life total is too low. But you can also cast it when the creature has greater than usual upside, like against aggro or when you really need something to carry a sword.
I'll cut Never // Return for it.

Great card is great. Also it allows you to kill two birds with one stone. You can cut both Vampire Nighthawk and Hero's Downfall if you want to and free up a slot. But you don't have to if you want to keep either card (or whatever else is in that slot).
Seems like a staple. I'll probably cut Never//Return for it, but I think it's likely better than Hero's Downfall too - Being a Hero's Downfall that cantrips into a 2/3 lifelink for the low cost of two life. I don't expect it will come up frequently but for the control vs. aggro matchup the option of a 2/3 lifelinker is valid too, in the case the control deck is low on life.
Really impressed with this. More anti-planeswalker cards that don't suck when fighting no planeswalkers decks. Cards you can reuse are always awesome in cube.
I think this is a slam dunk for 360 cubes. I think this card power-wise is 6's compared to Hero's Downfall, except this card, is way more interesting and therefore if those are my choices, I would pick this in terms of cube design. I understand there will be times where a deck would rather have the consistency of heroes downfall, but this card seems like it will make games more fun, and there may be times the creature side of this is just as important as the life loss.
Yeah this is one of the easiest includes EVER. I'm still runing never//return and that's an easy swap, even if I was down to just downfall though I'd STILL swap this in.
great card. I hate playing cards with weird frames but this is too good to pass over.
I'm actually really glad we got a slam dunk adventure card. I like cube being kind of a history of magic and I'm bummed when 0 cards with a specific mechanic are good enough to make it. Like, I'm a little bummed none of the meld cards were good enough. I didn't really like the mechanic, but it was certainly a different one.
With this card, though, adventure will be in till I don't have a cube.
