Storm's Wrath2RR
Sorcery (R)
Wrath of Storm deals 4 damage to each creature and each planeswalker.
Aside from the incredibly on the nose name, I really like this card. I've thought for a long time that if red is going to branch out of being strictly aggro/burn it is going to need a better wrath option than Hour of Devastation or Anger of the Gods and this fits the bill. 4CC is the sweet spot for wraths and this one is about on par with Languish in a vacuum (-x/-x is better, but this hits Walkers), but might be a bit worse since again red sections tend to have an aggro/burn focus at present. Still for players trying to expand on red's identity within cube and in the market for a red wrath I think this is the best one so far. I'm going to test it for sure. Really wish it had like a non-red walker clause...that might have pushed this enough for more powerful cube lists.
Worse than the 2 Earthquakes and the 2 Wildfires, but definitely complements the latter ones. Maybe it can be good in 540 cubes as the 5th best sweeper.
I have long cube the 2 earthquakes and wildfire because my group never played them. We have enjoyed a miser Jokulhaups as it works great in the walker deck., This doesn't replace that but I do think it is the best red wrath in a traditional sense. 360 is probably too small to support red control. (Aggro, Token, Reanimator being better).
For those that do support wildfire, specifically creatures with 5+ toughness, this is worth a look as support
I don't know if this is straight up worse than the wildfire and quake variants. Getting to kill multiple walkers is increasingly important, and with the new non-redirect rule being able to kill walkers at all is a pretty important upgrade over the quake variants (not to mention being able to kill flyers over OG quake). Also it is more efficient at 4 at dealing with creatures than quake is. Obviously you can't scale which is rough, and it doesn't have the land killing of wildfire, but I still think I want to test this to make red a more flexible color.
I think it's interesting because this gives the red control deck ways to actually deal with planeswalkers. Bolts only go so far. Maybe your second color has answers ... or maybe not. Not sure if I want it, but, I think it's cool to think about it.
Card is definitely cool but I'm not sure it's cool enough. This is no Fiery Confluence, which admittedly is a high bar. I'm considering cutting one of the Earthquakes to test it though.
Can a mod fix the title to be the actual name of the card?
