Enchantment Creature - Nymph
You may play an additional land on each of your turns.
Lands you control have all basic land types in addition to other types.
EXCUSE ME, WHAT?! Is there some mistake in translation? This is absolutely absurd - 2/4 oracle of mul daya, with ultimate mana fixing, for one less mana? I'll be SLAMMING this bad boy into my cube, forever. The only question is, does it replace Courser or exist alongside it...
* could a mod add the CUBE tag to this post? I forgot, and you cant edit it in! *
Looks fantastic to me. jamis makes a good point, but I think these are good stats and powerful abilities.
I think it does make an argument to support more ways to draw land cards out of your deck. I recently made a swap from Cultivate to Harrow, but maybe I'll have to reconsider.
Yeah, others are right that the top of library play is a big part of Oracle/Courser, but that doesn't mean this card isn't nuts. The stats are good, and Prismatic Omen is way more than trinket text. This is an amazing card.
Card looks good to me. Splashable 2G mana cost, serviceable 2/4 body, and an Exploration + Prismatic Omen in one card? Seems nice. Looking forward to playing this alongside High Tide, & Rofellos/Nissa(s). While it's probably not better than Courser or Oracle, this will be a sweet card to have in the same deck as them. Plus, perfect fixing is always welcome. Will likely test.
I really really want the lands deck to be a thing in cube, it seems like sweet synergy. This/Oracle of Mul Daya/Fastbond as redundant effects, and Life from the Loam/Wrenn and Six/Crucible of Worlds/Ramunap Excavator seems like the tits.
This does very little outside of that deck, though.

We do support the deck and this new card seems crazy good in it. Can't beleive it's real. Last thing we had as similar was Wayward Swordtooth. The RIX Dino looks silly next to it.

What's your cube environment? I have a 360 powered list and slots are pretty tight, but I still enjoy a couple of build arounds which aren't embarrassing, like wildfire, opposition, sneak attack and co. Does your lands.dec measure up well in terms of power and consistency?
Not an autoinclude, but a solid card depending on how your green shapes up. There is a downside to this card though - Inkwell Leviathan will be smacking you in the face for the full 7 with this guy out!

I think it's better than Swordtooth because Swordtooth can't block in the early game. Ramping with zero defense sounds like a good way to lose to aggro; this guy will probably take some resources to bring down.
I'm not a fan of this. Exploration is a very niche ability and wanes fast as the game goes on and Chromatic Lantern pretty much does everything this card already wants to do. Being able to work well with Rofellos isn't too hot IMO since you're already playing him in a heavy green deck anyways, can't imagine this would make the cut over other dedicated green cards in such a deck.
Is this really better than swordtooth and no one runsthat.
Yes. Excuse the mild hyperbole, but this card isn’t in the same galaxy as sword tooth.
Chromatic lantern level fixing, on a great blocker, that also lets you explore every turn is nuts.
all 3 of those attributes are good and valuable. Combine them and you have excellence. For the majority of games, sword tooth only has one of those abilities. By the time you “ascend” in cube, a 5/5 isn’t even close to as relevant as a 2/4 is in the early game.
Vedalken shackles is another good interaction that hasn’t been mentioned.
I’d be surprised if this wasn’t the best card in the set spoiled so far.
Chromatic Lantern pretty much does everything this card already wants to do.
Hard disagree. Chromatic lantern doesnt shut down aggression on turn 3, and there is significantly more artifact removal vs enchantment removal in most aggressive decks.
Secondly, chromatic lantern doesnt let you go off with crucible of worlds.
This card is really only good in weird land-based combo strategies (which tend to be very weak as is) and 4-5C midrange decks that want a Chromatic Lantern effect. The card doesn't actually ramp you in green ramp decks as it doesn't make mana of its own making it pretty mediocre imo, I don't plan to run this card.
Also, lands like Mishras workshop , maze of ith and bazaar of Baghdad now tap for any mana.
when I have a couple lands matters cards, I like to add spell lands to up my land count, without greatly risking the chance of flooding.
Those decks are often 3 colours so it can make playing wasteland/mutavault feel painful.
At what size do you people see playing this? I'm in the skeptical camp here (unpowered, if that matters). I'd like to support the lands.dec more but I'm just not seeing this.

I cut Chromatic Lantern mostly because of arguments made on these forums: perfect fixing on one card isn't that good if that card can be removed easily, so it's kind of a redundant effect, and at 3 mana a ramp card should do more. I see a lot of the same issues here. When it comes to this vs. an aggro deck, sure, there is often more artifact than enchantment removal, but there is also a lot of creature removal. This survives most red removal, but not much else.
I agree it's probably better than the Swordtooth because it at least does something on an empty board. But it also dies to a Disenchant. I like the fact that it fixes mana while giving you extra land drops, as the lands matter decks can get a bit color intensive. Still, it would seem like it needs a lot of buildaround :/

Crucible.dec support, big blocker, splashable, chromatic lantern fixing and helps ramp if you have the resources.
Can't slam it in every green deck, so there's deck building/draft decisions that come along with it.
Be surprised if this card doesn't stick for a while.

Are you playing Prismatic Omen or Explore?
If you're playing either of the above, does this card do enough extra to justify the increased range of removal it can die to?
If you're playing either of the above, is the cheaper cost of those cards more or less beneficial than the additional blocking creature?
