You may look at the top card of your library at any time.
As long as an opponent controls more lands than you, you may play lands from the top of your library. (You can play a land this way only if you have an available land play remaining.)
So is it just me or is the a more aggressive yet situational Courser of Kruphix in white? Drawing and playing lands from the top of your deck in white is fantastic, problem is it’s only if your opponent has more than you which is great on the draw but bad on the play (unless you miss a land drop after 3). Thoughts?
Holy snakes this thing screams classic to me. The body is passable if the ability is good, and the turn it comes in, this can [provide card advantage as it can] help you make your land drop.
It’s much worse on the play, but you can still enjoy the free information, and there are plenty of games where tempo changes and people flood.
Definitely needs to be tested, definitely deserves testing.
It's a nice card, but I don't think I can make room for this. It's a pretty crowded slot and this doesn't play into any archetype. I currently only have Thalia, Heretic Cathar as a pure aggro 3-drop, and she's not going to be replaced by this card.
This is difficult to evaluate, but this type of effect that relies on opponent’s land count is usually worse than it seems.
The problem is that you want to put a 3cc 3/3 first strike creature in a more aggressive deck, but the land on top ability is maximized if you’re in a Control mirror match.
As-is I think this card is a 3/3 first strike for 2W that has an ability that is about 25% as good as “draw a card when it enters play.” That means it’ll be a pass from me.
I will replace Bygone Bishop with this gem. The magic about this is that it's a 3/3 First Strike for 3 which is quite impressive for an utility creature. I also like that it has a synergy with shuffling effects, allowing for some card quality if it happens. In addition to that the land play effect will happen, sometimes more than once and in grindy games this will make a difference. I am very optimistic!
I'm shocked to say it, but this probably won't make it in. White's three-drops are the most competitive slot in cube for me, and best case, this is a french vanilla beater that best case gets what, two plains out of your deck? I think I actually like Alpine Guide more.
One card I've really been liking is Knight of the White Orchid. Knight's first strike and land fetching on the draw is VERY strong, especially for decks curving out into Armageddon, Gideon or Chandra.
I could see this card as a potential body in a Pox deck, a white aggro/ midrange deck or a midrange creature deck, but the problem is this card is significantly worse than Courser and tireless tracker and its in the wrong color. I'm skeptical over him.

Very cool card but not good enough. Land tax was amazing because it was 1 mana. Once I have 3 land, I am off and running in most games. But the abilit on a 1 mana 2/1 and we are in business. This one is no courser of Cruphix
It's weird that the ability turns itself off after one or two uses. In Armageddon decks, where access to more land is useful, this won't help because you'll likely have more lands.

This is still the best place for high-power-level cube chat & debate.
