Essentially a fireball, without the upside (splitting targets or flash back like devil's play),
that is less potent when targeting the player (can be blocked to soak up damage)
but is much better as a removal spell (doubles the X damage).
Given all those trade off's I think the card may? be the best fireball type variant for cube?

I wish the first option were to make X 1/1s with haste. That might have actually sold it for me, because getting that many triggers with oldschool Purph, or that many sacs with Goblin Bombardment, etc, might have made it a dangerous spell to deal with. Having that as its major use, but with the alternative option of just having a desperation removal spell that scales pretty well would have been welcome.
