Seasoned Hallowblade 1W
Creature — Human Warrior
Discard a card: Tap Seasoned Hallowblade. It gains indestructible until end of turn.
3/1
A discard outlet that can work like an Aggro beater (Note that the tapping is part of resolution, not the cost.) It reminds me of Oona's Prowler and Adanto Vanguard, both very potent cube cards that shine in their own way. This card sort of takes the best of both worlds. And its creature types are both relevant in many lists. Thoughts?
The fact that decent discard outlets in White are scarce really helps, too. The next best thing is in the form of probably something like Patrol Hound .
WB reanimator anyone?
I like this card. It's similar to Adanto Vanguard in that you have a 3-power 2-drop that can aggressively get into combat, and protect itself from Wraths. This creature is also 3-power on defense too! White has been dipping its toes into reanimator and other graveyard-based decks more and more as of late, and I think this creature will be able to find a home both in white aggro and in graveyard decks that feature white as a tertiary color. I'll very likely test this out.

As the legendary count keeps going up and up in cube I have been playing with Loyal Retainers, getting some decent positve results so far. (Maybe not enough for everyone but I think it will get there someday). This card sets it up very nicely. New Theros has reminded me that the graveyard is another axis to power up decks and it is good to have a way to tap that resource. All other colors have 360 firm playables for discard, about time to get white in on it.
Currently I am running Elspeth, Sun's Nemisis, Sun Titan, Hallowed Spiritkeeper, and Bruna to potentially take advantage of the discard. What else are people running in white that can make use of this?
This looks pretty good, but I hate the art. Hate it. I think this is likely better than Glory-Bound Initiate or Imposing Sovereign so I think I'll give it a whirl.
Wasn't expecting more 2drops that could switch on indestructibility anytime soon. I appreciate the discard outlet and will gladly give aggro more ways to withstand wraths.
I don't think this is better than initiate. That card is a house. I don't like it better than accorder paladin either. I think it is better than Vanguard, but I already wasn't running that.
I also run essentially no GY interaction in white, so that's not as much of a benefit for me either.
Edit - And when imposing sovereign is good, it's so good. While this may be better on balance there are times where sovereign stops people from stabilizing where no other card but 3 cmc thalia would.
Would be nice to get white a bit deeper into reanimator without abandoning white weenie aggro. I'm probably going to cut Stoneforge Mystic. I don't run swords so she is lacking for targets.

For what it's worth we dropped stoneforge immediately when we cut swords, and never looked back. You can probably afford to lose it.
