This is yet another rabblemaster, and I think it's slightly worse than Hanweir Garrison, which I'm not running, so I don't plan to test this one. But I don't think it's too far off from the other Rabblemasters. Damage output goes
Compared to the calculations of the other Rabblemasters opterown did in the Krenko thread, Relic Robber does look on par with the rest of them. I do like that this one starts off doing the most damage. Assuming the red aggrro deck is able to do the other 8 damage with it's earlier creatures and spells, Relic Robber's 12 damage on turn 5 is only outpaced by Warboss's 13 and Rabblemaster's 15.
I do also like that the tokens it creates are "unblockable". The downside of course is this 2/2 has to attack every turn to keep making the tokens.
edit: I just re-read the card. It creates the tokens when it connects, not when it attacks like the other rabblemasters. That makes it much worse, too.
The fact that it creates them when it deals combat damage instead of attacking makes it worse for sure, as you noted. That said, this also has the potential to do more damage if the opponent would otherwise have stabilized, unless they stabilized with a wrath. Removing their own creatures that can't block is harder than just making attacks with 1/1 goblin tokens bad, unless they have a sac outlet.
I love the flavor here, though. Considering finding room, even though I already don't run Legion Warboss and Hanweir Garrison.
Needing to connect makes this way worse, plus you're potentially giving your opponent Skullclamp / Tinker / Urza / Vraska / etc fodder. Phoenix of Ash does everything this card wants to do in terms of near unstoppable red damage from a creature.
Giving your opponents tokens just seems like a recipe for disaster, not to mention that this card is competing with other options at the same cmc that give you tokens to abuse. Cool card concept, but just doesn't seem especially good.
The tokens are artifact creatures that can attack... battlecry, hellrider, purphoros, goblin welder, tinker, stax, braid, yawgmoth, white anthems, tinker, gaia's cradle, tolarian academy, oko, both daretti. I don't want to get my opponent all those sweet interactions!
Any ping or wrath effects clear this damage, which are effects you're boarding in against this deck anyway.
Two toughness and it creates on a hit.
This creature is flavorful and cool, but I doubt it plays out good outside of limited.
This is by no means a rabblemaster variant, and it's not gonna be sneaking its way into any high-power cubes. What this guy is is one of the coolest commandos cards available. Commandos is an archetype, dammit, and this is just the juice it needs!
This is a card for us wacky fringe cubers.
Bit of a flavor fail though. He's a robber who leaves you with bad stuff? That's not a robber, that's a saboteur.

I'm pretty sure the flavor is that he's a goblin, so he's really bad at his damn job. Hence while stealing, he tends to accidentally just end up setting things on fire.
Kinda convoluted, but it sorta makes sense I guess

I do love the card. What a great idea for a goblin thief.
