Hello all! I've been playing the game off and on since its inception, and have amassed quite the collection over the years. My playgroup suggested that I use this vast collection to build a cube, so here I am!
The purpose of my cube is to create a fun, powerful yet balanced limited experience for everyone in my playgroup to enjoy. I want those drafting the cube to be excited about the diverse card selection and numerous potential archetypes.
Inspiration for the Cube's Contents
Although I consider myself a veteran Magic player, I'm a novice when it comes to cubing, so I've used an amalgamation of a number of sources as the baseline for my first cube's contents:
1. wtwlf123's cube
2. MTGO Vintage cube
3. My personal favorite cards from the game's history
Cube Specifics
Size: 720 cards (90 per color, 15 per Guild, 20 multi-colored, 100 colorless)
Standard or Themed Cube: Standard
Average Draft Size: 6-8 players
Cube CMC: TBD
Design Restrictions:
Powered? Yes
Vintage Legal? Yes
Singleton Legal? Yes
Color Balance? Yes
Guild Balance? Yes
Excluded Cards: Cards that aren't Vintage legal (Chaos Orb being an exception), including ante cards, Unhinged/Unstable/Unglued cards, Holiday promo cards, and cards reliant on certain formats (EDH, Vanguard, Archenemy, Planechase) to function.
Presentation Design
My goal is to make my cube as aesthetically pleasing as possible. Therefore, specific card versions were chosen in order to maximize the "Wow!" factor. Every card in the cube is an original art foil, unless:
1. An Alpha/Beta version of the card exists
2. A rare/special foil promo exists that is more valuable (i.e. Champs Mutavault) or has superior artwork
3. A rare/special non-foil promo exists that is more valuable
4. Only a From the Vault foil exists (not a fan, though there are exceptions), in which case the original art non-foil is chosen
5. No foil version exists, in which case the original art non-foil is chosen
Basic Lands & Tokens
Lands: 45 of each basic land type, all matching art from Revised/3rd Edition.
Tokens: I've included at least one token for each token type (creature token, Treasure, Emblem, etc.) based on the cube's contents.
Cube Protection & Storage
Every card in the cube, including basic lands, is double-sleeved with KMC Perfect Size and black Ultra Pro Matte sleeves. The cube - along with tokens, which are not sleeved - is stored in a yellow (my favorite color) Ultimate Guard SuperHive box.
As you can see, I need to make a few cuts/additions so that my cube is on target for the color breakdown noted in the first post. Currently, this is where I'm at:
White: 90
Blue: 92 (need to cut 2 cards)
Black: 92 (need to cut 2 cards)
Red: 90
Green: 90
Azorius: 15
Dimir: 15
Rakdos: 14 (need to add 1 card)
Gruul: 15
Selesnya: 14 (need to add 1 card)

I really like your list, it's very similar to my 720 (765).
Here are my suggestions after I scrolled through your list:
I agree with most of your suggested cuts. Yes, that was supposed to be Miscalculation. Edited OP! Is Tarmogoyf really good in limited? I always heard he was kinda underwhelming. I'm asking because I already run Oracle of Mul Daya, so I'm considering adding the two Storm support cards you suggested for Green over Goyf.
As for the multicolor section, are colorless cards OK to be added there? You suggusted a lot of colorless cards, and I feel those would belong in the colorless section. I guess it's up to me and how I want to construct my cube, though. I do already run Yasova Dragonclaw, but I like the idea of Villainous Wealth.
For the Guilds already at 15, I'll have to make a cut to fit another land. I'm guessing either a Scry Temple or a filter land. What to cut is always my biggest issue.

No problem at all! The extra 7 Cards that were mixed colorless and multi was because I was lazy I couldn’t find that many multicolored cards so I therefore put them together with some colorless cards.
Yeah, especially in Dimir, cuts are a headache!
So you had Oracle? Guess I just missed it. Tarmogoyf is actually good in B/G rock, I was also sceptical to it first but it can actually pull its weight in 720 IMO.

Another question for you: how do you assess new cards when sets are released? Do you compare to similar cards in the same color at the same mana cost? In other words, do you see if certain cards can be "upgraded" by swapping for new cards?

Sorry for epic delay!
Yes, I try to replace cards within the same mana cost as much as possible. Some territories are tougher than others, for example red 3s, white 4s and of course blue overall is super stacked. 100 % balance in all colors is not super important for me when the cube is 1125 cards big.
This year has really been fantastic for us cube designers in both card quantity and quality. I think now there is no problem at all to keep a high power level in a 720 cube!

Cut either Brightling or Linvala, Keeper of Silence.
BLUE
These are closest to cut:

OR you can add some more Storm support; Noxious Revival and Rude Awakening.
For the guilds I would suggest to add one more land in each combination. I play 8 lands in each guild at 765 so I think 7 should go in a 720 cube.

A couple of things:
I agree with most of your suggested cuts. Yes, that was supposed to be Miscalculation. Edited OP! Is Tarmogoyf really good in limited? I always heard he was kinda underwhelming. I'm asking because I already run Oracle of Mul Daya, so I'm considering adding the two Storm support cards you suggested for Green over Goyf.
As for the multicolor section, are colorless cards OK to be added there? You suggusted a lot of colorless cards, and I feel those would belong in the colorless section. I guess it's up to me and how I want to construct my cube, though. I do already run Yasova Dragonclaw, but I like the idea of Villainous Wealth.
For the Guilds already at 15, I'll have to make a cut to fit another land. I'm guessing either a Scry Temple or a filter land. What to cut is always my biggest issue.

So you had Oracle? Guess I just missed it. Tarmogoyf is actually good in B/G rock, I was also sceptical to it first but it can actually pull its weight in 720 IMO.

Another question for you: how do you assess new cards when sets are released? Do you compare to similar cards in the same color at the same mana cost? In other words, do you see if certain cards can be "upgraded" by swapping for new cards?

Yes, I try to replace cards within the same mana cost as much as possible. Some territories are tougher than others, for example red 3s, white 4s and of course blue overall is super stacked. 100 % balance in all colors is not super important for me when the cube is 1125 cards big.
This year has really been fantastic for us cube designers in both card quantity and quality. I think now there is no problem at all to keep a high power level in a 720 cube!
