Steed looks super beefy and is a White 5 drop, which are a bit lacking. 5 Vigilance power across two bodies is pretty good, and it's a good blink target as well. Dog should've costed 1 less to be really good, but I don't think it quite makes the cut at 5.
I agree the Steed looks really good, and will be great in limited. But I dont think it makes the cut in my cube (i like my other 4x 5drops better). But its certainly to be cubable.
"Dozing Tyrannosaurus" 1G
Creature - Dinosaur
Defender
As long as you control a creature with power 4 or greater, Dozing Tyrannosaur can attack as though it didn't have defender.
3/3
Seems like a pretty easy autoinclude, 3/3 for 2 is beefy and the drawback is negligible in Green.
Its an upgraded glade watcher which i ran for a while. The problem i have with it. Green is more of a midrange aggro color, which (should?) also heavily use manaelves. Therefore anything at cmc2 is kinda wasted potential and anything unable to block RWs 3/x is kinda meh. A 2/x trades as good rn.
Its not a bad card but i dont see a spot for it.
Dont like the steed much, the double 2/2s for 4 are better imo.
Like the mutt if your white needs a 2nd disenchant. Might even replace kors for a bigger body.
I wouldn't call Dozing Tyrannosaurus an auto include. Llanowar Visionary is an auto include. The drawback definitely isn't negligible, becuase if you don't have turn 1 ramp and play this turn two, you will probably not be able to attack on turn 3, which you could with e.g. Terrain Elemental. At least in my cube there also are some heavy removal control decks which are totally happy if there is a creature that doesn't need to be dealt with, if the rest is dead. I think it's similar to Mogg Flunkies in that regard. I'm not saying it's bad, just that it's not an auto include.
I'm also not a fan of the Steed. For 5 mana I want something more exciting.
The Mutt seems like a fine addition/alternative to Kor Sanctifiers. The flexiblity of the Sanctifiers doesn't matter that much, because you rarely want to cast it for 3 anyway. I guess asking for a 4/4 like Indrik Stomphowler would be a bit too much for pauper, even though Wickerbough Elder exists for some reason.
Trufflesnout is at least a 3/3 for 3 which is fine for lack of a better 3 drop. Having the option to gain 4 life instead of the counter might actually be good enough to try out because 4 life is really important against burn, and that's where I often found green lacking. I don't mind a 3/3 for 3 in most midrange matchups because hopefully (playing green) my 4 and 5 drops will significantly outclass my opponent.
I want to try playing Village Rites. It's aggressively costed (a mana). It's another piece of the sacrifice puzzle. I wonder if we have reached critical mass for the archetype yet to be a little bit more that just a gimmick. And the very least Village Rites is a decent response to a removal spell and allows you to make use of a pacified creature body.

There's no word in the goblin language for "strategy." Then again, there's no word in the goblin language for "word."
Totally agree green needs lifegain, but i want both. A competitive body And lifegain. As is i dont think im able to find a cut. Wish we finally got a 5/5 for 5 +5life at common. Were getting closer since Fierce Witchstalker and Honey Mammoth, so its only a matter now.
Seems like a more fitting name would be Alliterative Appropriater/Acquisitionist/Arrogater/Acquirer/Attainer although none of those first three words is at all common in English
card is an interesting take on the scrollthief variants and reminds me of Audacious Thief. unfortunately its power and/or toughness is too low to represent a useful body.
remaining set is a slowburn now and at best we get one more playable out of it. so the llanowar is the best and almost only card of the set indeed.
So it's a strictly better Aven Wind Mage. Despite setting a new precedent at common, I'm not super hyped on this card. I do try for a spellslinger archetype in my own cube, but prowess on this body doesn't seem to really get there.
Mistral Singer - I don't mind playing Niblis of Dusk and this is more or less strictly better. Extra toughness saves it from Deserts and so forth. Playable though not that exciting.
Crypt Lurker - I don't have that much that I want to pitch or to sac for this.
Destructive Tampering - Seems alright, although this does not do a lot when you are behind, which puts it in the class of win more cards. I prefer Ruthless Invasion and Nightbird's Clutches. The former because it can be played off-colour (namely green and white where it is most wanted) and the latter because it is cheap and repeatable.
- Daybreak Charger -> Daring Skyjek: Skyjek can't gain flying until turn 4 at the very least and it dies to a stiff breeze, and can also be easily sabotaged by controlling your other creatures. The body on Charger is the same, but at least allows your 1-drops to hit harder early and can push through the final points of damage late.
- Rambunctious Mutt -> Supply-Line Cranes: I'll finally try this one over Valorous Steed and see how it goes, since it's basically a White version of Wickerbough Elder.
- Spined Megalodon -> Cold-Water Snapper: A really solid upgrade for just one more pip. My only fear with this is that even in control the difference between 6 and 7 is too big, but testing will prove if it's doable or not.
- Hobblefiend -> Underworld Rage-Hound: Rage Hound is a pretty decent card overall and it's really easy to bring back when you're going low on gas, but Hobblefiend is another good sac outlet in Red, which are reaching critical mass already. It also adds to the trample count for Ram Through, which isn't necessary, but it's cute.
- Llanowar Visionary -> Phantom Tiger: Easy autoinclude, and Tiger is probably the worst of my current Green 3s.
Cards I'm also interested in adding once I find out what to cut for them:
- Valorous Steed: 5/5 worth of stats across two bodies with Vigilance for 5 is pretty chunky for white's top end, and for midrange decks trying to stabilize. It's also a target for the UW blink archetype.
- Roaming Ghostlight: I've ran Aven Surveyor in the past, and curving Man-o-Wars is a fairly powerful strategy. I might cut Cloudreader Sphinx, but it's big butt, easier casting cost and Scry 2 is making it hard for me to justify the cut.
- Village Rites: Pretty solid card with a good rate, holding 1 mana up to counter removal, cashing in pacified creatures, or simply sacrificing a token or outclassed creature at the end of the opponent's turn makes this a very attractive option.
- Crypt Lurker: Decent stats for Black, but my Black 4 is pretty stacked atm. Nevertheless, cashing pacified or outclassed creatures, or simply discarding irrelevant ones or creatures that want to be in the graveyard and drawing a card is a good interaction, so I'm likely to include this once I can make room for it.
- Drowsing Tyrannodon: Even if Green's 2 don't matter that much, the fact that it's a huge speedbump on turn 2 and has a good rate after that is too good to pass. It also enables itself with something like Rancor or Trusted Forcemage.
Swift Response - Strictly better than Take Vengeance. Has to compete against Pacifism and Sheer Drop. This is the best version of this kind of effect and is probably good enough to run.
Sanguine Indulgence - Has potential, although I don't think many decks currently could reliably get the discount.
Bone Pit Brute - About the strength I'd expect from red's 6cmc club. I think this is better than Chartooth Cougar and Lava Serpent which are two currently playable 6 drops. And is similarly kitted to Bogardan Rager, though I much prefer menace and a bigger body over flash.
Chandra's Magmutt - Seems better every time I think about it. Ticking out 1 damage when the board gets clogged will get there in the end, and often red is looking for a way to tick someone's life total into lethal range.
Goblin Wizardry - I initially dismissed this as chaff, then I realised that it makes every non-creature spell worth at least 2 additional points damage. I already run heaps of cheap blue spells so getting multiple prowess triggers won't be that difficult. I'm looking forward to bopping people with a couple of Goblin Wizards. Maybe I'll start looking for room for Empty the Warrens and Gush...
i only added visionary, decided to cut byway courier for it lol. good argument about needing to die, also i try to find some redundancy to ramp from 3 to 5, so i kept Tishana's Wayfinder for now.
also replaced kors with mugg.
dont plan to add anything else rn.
Swift Response. def one of the better spell based removals in white and for sure quite playable. it just happens that white has some synergies with enchanment, so i often found myself cutting those from my deck amd eventually from my cube. Sanguine Indulgence. I think i could quite reliably fulfill the discount, but I think Black has its definitive raise dead in Death Denied
already Bone Pit Brute Im not a fan of red fat and Vildin-Pack Outcast is pretty much the best you can ever expect. alternatively run Ill-Tempered Cyclops Chandra's Magmuttwell. yeah the ping can be useful, but a bear is outclassed in any way. especially in red. id rather add a real tim. Goblin Wizardry im not a fan, although it plays quite well in the spells matters deck and would run it as support.
The cards I'll take a closer look at, are: Staunch Shieldmate - looks like a strong early roadblock, as it doesn't die to the usual 2/x one-drops Warded Battlements - Supports go wide strategies, but the fact, that can't attack is really a downside Library Larcenist - Body seems small, but effect is interesting Read the Tides - I think six mana is too much, but it also seems like solid card Rousing Read - This version of the Cartouche of Knowledge is a bit weird Spined Megalodon - nice finisher, but I usually don't play hexproof creatures Caged Zombie - Effect is interesting, cost is probably too high Village Rites - enough discussed here Hobblefiend - I don't run a sac theme in my cube, but this really makes me think, if I should HUnter's Edge - Strictly better Hunt the weak, still not sure, if it's good enough Sabertooth Mauler - This gets bigger with each attack. Pretty good in a BG or RG deck I think Track down- scry 3 plus carddraw is rare in green. Whiffing is unprobable Silent Dart - It bolts in colorless, but I think, the costs are too high Llanowar Visionairy - Okay... Dozing TRyrannosaurus - This is big, but dies to Bolt and I think is not aggressive enough.

I always welcome cards that subtly add to the +1 counters theme, but that could go in any cube.
My 490 Pauper Cube
Modern frame only- Common on paper only - no functional copies, no strictly-betters - no subtype-matters
I agree that Llanowar Visionary is an auto-include.

For now i substitute into white for centaur healer and maybe Bulwark Giant
The sac archetype is insanely strong in br with threaten. Its too oppressive for me to include it though.

Daybreak Charger and Blood Glutton aren't too horrible either.
Rookie Mistake is a pretty interesting card design. Basically Martial Glory for U. Not good enough, but still interesting.

charger is one of the better 3/1s if youre still running them. I dont think Id run Glutton over Scrounger of Souls
mistake, yeah, nice trick.

Roaming Ghostlight - Somewhere between Mist Raven and Aethersnipe. 5 mana is a bit slow and it is weaker than Mist Raven, but it will play quite nicely alongside the other Man-o'-Wars. I think Roaming Ghostlight is cuttable.
Daybreak Charger - This and Llanowar Visionary are the two auto-includes of the set. The etb makes this sting.
