Pithing Needle won't do anything most of the time because a majority of my activated abilities are mana abilities. When it does, or when I get a Null Rod where the sun don't shine, I go after Mind's Desire to cast through my deck and pump my storm count.
To deal with removal, I have four Second Sunrises and four Retracts on the side (to bounce the target if it's an artifact and thus fizzle the removal spell). As for discard and countermagic, those actually never got on my mind when I made this deck. So see the next post for the changes I've made.
I really don't understand why the value of the deck was needed in the topic title it's irrelevant information. About the deck its self, Pithing needle recks this deck.
I ran a version of this deck for a casual vintage tourney I went to.
Isn't Pyrite Spellbomb almost strictly superior in this deck? It lets you draw your entire deck like the chromatic star.
I ran some number of Trinket Mage. It grabs both your win cons (Lotus and star/Spellbomb). It also let me run a Seat of the Synod to tutor for if need be. THough it was probably too slow for a real vintage tourney.

This deck seems like a more fair version of neo academy in all honestly. If you can't consistently turn 1 like neo academy it seems just strictly inferior as they at least run FoW and other sideboard options to remove hateful permanents like null rod and such. For reference here's a neo academy list:
Seems like a port from Legacy & Modern of the Eggs deck. Which gets it's original name from the fact that it played Second Sunrise (Morning term) and the eggs from Odyssey like Sungrass Egg which have been replaced by things like Chromatic Star.
Here is the link to an archived forum on it over in Modern, as they banned Second Sunrise.
This is a very fast deck over in Modern and Legacy, but I am not sure it can stand all the disruption that vintage runs - ala gravehate, counters and discard.
More power to you if you can make it work - any tourney results to reference?
