Terashi's Grasp - :2mana::symw:
Sorcery - Arcane (C)
Destroy target artifact or enchantment. You gain life equal to its converted mana cost.
So Disenchant is back in white!??!?!? And for only one more mana you get Arcane. W00T!
Now this one is hard to swallow. How does wizards define the pie. I mean one moment white is the third best color at destroying artifacts and then they go and do something like this. I wish they would figure out what they are doing. The card is great by the way.
Well, it's nice to see a Disenchant variant back in white. It's not nearly as good, but at least they're giving us perks to go with it.
I run Disenchant in pretty much every white deck I can play it in, so it's nice to see it in block, albeit toned down. The life gain kinda reminds me of Divine Offering and Serene Offering.
Wow, Divine Offering and Serene Offering into one! Sucks for it to be a sorcery, but still Disenchant back in white is always good. What were the guys at R&D thinking anyway? What's next? Pinging back to blue? Black gets Dark Rituals?
White has some serious tools at its disposal now -- Terashi's Grasp, Kami of Ancient Law, Samurai of the Pale Curtain, Ghostly Prison and Final Judgement to name just a few!
Arkham, the 1920's. Investigators battle horrors from beyond time and space, risking life and sanity while conspiracies of cultists and malign servitors seek gateways for their outer gods to return...
Soon, the stars will be right! Great Cthulhu shall rise!
....maybe the correction to the pie is why this card's a sorcery. Nice s/b card for white based control. I'll just hope they don't have a Ravager around.
Sorry to repeat this Gnork but has everyone forgotten that the Mirrodin block also had a white disenchant variant in Altars Light? White is the third best colour for artifact removal so it makes sense that it should still get a bit of artifact removal (just not as much as Red or Green).
This would have been great as an instant, what's with all these white arcane spells being sorceries- I mean from Blinding Beam to Terashi's Cry, Tempest of Light to Cleanfall, now disenchant to this. Still the lifegain is a nice perk.
I guess wizards can't decide whether green or white has artifact and enchantment removal and just decided to go for both. I think they will concentrate on both, green leaning towards artifacts, white leaning towards enchantments. I guess it's time to ditch shatter now
Uh, I thought that was always the case. To my knowledge, Wizards never said that White lost enchantment/artifact removal; as has been pointed out, they've been printing such removal since Green got Naturalize. They simply said that Green got Disenchant. :slant:
Glad to see this, though! My life gain deck will enjoy this.
Arcane as a bonus is just plain cool.
Can't wait to see Mr Terashi at work too...
Hoping Terashi is something like this..

Legendary - Spirit (R)
Flying.
When attacks, tap up to three target creatures.
Whenever deals combat damage to any player, you may destroy target artifact or enchantment. if you do so, you gains life equal to the converted mana cost of the artifact or enchantment destroyed this way.
3/3
Wow, this is awsome. Disenchant but better.....Definatly playable. I mean thats all i can say...Just wow. This can be played everywhere and anywhere, Very nice i definatly see this being used.
Why does everybody allway assume that ravager and disciple are on the board?
By turn 3, there's usually a some kind of sac outlet on the board. Or at least with my luck (when I'm playing against affinity) there is.
Whatever the case, I really like this card. Although a sorcery, I have no problems with getting a decent white disenchant back in the format. This will most likely see play in T2 sideboards (well if a deck that actually runs white arises), as well as block play if Honden.dec ever shows up. Not my idea of a great limited pic though.
I suppose the Color Pie says that Green and Red have fast, angry artifact removal like Oxidize and Shatter, whereas White has slow, contemplative, anti-impiety removal (i.e. to return the world to being a better place). The life-gain exemplifies this, and makes the card not completely suck.
I'll take disenchant anyday.

Oh... There they are... *wipes sweat away*
That's just plain wierd... I fail to see why they would ever print something like that after being so adament about the color pie in white... Strange...
This is a great card! Although it reminds me more of divine offering than disenchant.....with the life gain and all.....guess white is still pretty good @ taking out artifacts!
On a side note, I found out R_E was gone from mtgnews yesterday and was really dissapointed, but then saw that he was here! I immediately dropped them and came here! That other site will do nothing but go downhill from now on......he is the best they had! Thanks R_E for not quiting all together and I look forward to reading more of what you have to say!
This will be big in casual and block, and good to a point in type 2. Sadly, though, it doesn't do all that much against Ravager, which is where it was most needed.

Why, why, WHY did R&D let Ravager see print!?!
Unless they have a ravager out on turn 2, or a shrapnelblas in hand, it removes myr enforcers nicely.
Me? Personally I think it didn't need to be made; thus far how many artifact hate cards have there been in this set? If you said "too many", you're right.

I hope that Terashi makes an appearance as a card in its own right. I'd be quite interested to see what this bad boy could do.

Believable. WHite needs a disnechant for less than 4, and this is it. Sorcery speed. Gains you some (7?) life. Bad for Affinity, good for you.
