I was right. Haha I was right. If no one knows what I am talkign referre to the picture Hackign where I said I though it would be Patron Of the Akki. Well I like the art and hope to see more.
Also, an interesting tidbit from the story: "The Patron of the Orochi was once beautiful, but now is nothing more than a great worm made of woven vines."
Makes me think that the picture of the big green worm thing we have is definitely the Orochi Patron.
Well remember, it appears the Akki are smarter than normal Goblins. After all, they have poets and a veritable genius (by Goblin standards) in Kiki-Jiki.
EDIT: Could the picture of "Ik-Uk" possibly be the art for Akki Raider? The flavor fits.
I agree, the vurm is definitvly the orochi patron. and the akki patron looks a little cool I liked the story

The huge wurm thing? Um, you quoted it yourself, it's composed of woven vines. The wurm in that picture definitely doesn't look like it's made of woven vines.
Well, if that's the picture, then that's the picture. Still, I was hoping the patrons would resemble their associated race - just horribly twisted. Patron of the Kitsune did a good job of that, and the moonfolk one isn't too far off. It sounds like they're just using wurm-like critters for the Akki and the Orochi, though....disappointing.

Akki and goblins aren't smart - some are just a little more together, more adjusted than the others. Squee wasn't smart - just insanely lucky. Skirk Firemarshall wasn't a great leader - he just knew how to get out of the way better than the Pyromancer. I'm quite sure the Akki are the same way - some have better aim or sense than others, but that doesn't make them smart.
I agree that the Akki seemed a little articulate for a lowly Goblin. And the story had several glaring typos that should have been caught.
It doesn't take much to please me when it comes to things Goblin-related, but this didn't make the cut.

This is my Jackal Pup. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My Jackal Pup is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My Jackal Pup without me is useless. Without my Jackal Pup, I am useless. I must tap my Jackal Pup true. I must tap faster than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must beat him down before he beats me down. I will.
in the first book they summoned the Myojin of Life's Web, it was referred to as such and was in no way serpent-like.
I also agree in the thinking that that one large green worm art could be the Patron of the Orochi.
If you look close enough at the art of the green wurm, you will see that it is composed of vine (left down part is where it is the most obvious).
I think it's definitely the orochi patron ...:crying:
But it makes sense for the orochi patron to be a wurm. Snakes are smaller wurms just the orochi have evolved to have arms and all that fun. So the patron is definatly a mutated version of an orochi but the akki one looks nothing like an akki except the little spirits around it. Though we only notice that part because of the story.
Can someone attach the pic? I'm at work and wizard's site is blocked.
Wow, that must bite. I'd be sad if work ever blocked out access to any of my sites. As it stands, I've full access unless I try to search for known 'malicious' applications - then the proxy barfs me a message and tells me that my attempt has been logged.

Aside from what Xenphire already pointed out regarding the worm not being made of vines, it also does not have orbiting energy objects in the art. As you know all kami have these objects.

Yes it does.
The only concern I have with the Patron of the Akki is his apparent lack of arms and legs.
I like the idea of the Patrons being wurmish things.
It said in the story that the Patrons became twisted, so maybe they looked more like their race before and how just turned more ferile and less like their race. I also think that, heh! They're mighty spirits! They're not going to look exactly like their respective races, so I like what the artists have done, put subtle similarities in the art. Like how on the Patron of the Akki's art you can see the same kind of shell on its head and the rest of its body, looking just like an Akki. I think its very cool.
I also really liked the story (minus the errors! ) Why don't they have as many stories as they did when Champions came out? I loved those!!!

if you are ever being chased by a police dog, try not to run through a tunnel, then over a little see-saw, then jump through a ring of fire. theyre trained for that
The green worm probably is the patrol of the orochi, it's definitely a spirit and the art is definitely green, the only other thing it could be is the body of jukai card we've got rumoured, either way its cool art.

I liked them too. I wish they'd make a novel with small back stories for all of the legends in this block. I think it would be a good read.
They should just post all of the stories individually online, for those of us who like reading them online, and are too cheap to buy a book.
I love these stories. They're so great.
I really liked the ending on this one.
