Well, Doubling Season is really strange, considering judge foils tend to be tournament staples. Sure, it's possibly the juciest casual card ever, but I doubt it's ever seen tournament play.
Well, damn. Even though I'm not using the foil Doubling Season I already have, I feel compelled to get this one. That art is incredible. Also need the Crypt, so hopefully it doesn't go too high.
"Judge Promos are usually Tournament staples"? Say that to Morphling, Thawing Glaciers, Wheel of Fortune, Land Tax...
Somebody with decision power in WotC is playing competitive EDH (and Faeries - Judge Clique, Judge BBlossom, PR Cryptic, FNM Spellstutter Sprite)...
All of those are/were tournament staples. Infact, Thawing Glaciers, Wheel of Fortune, Land Tax, and Bitterblossom have even landed on banned lists. I don't think Doubling Season has been used in any serious tournament deck, ever. Sure, it makes a great promo, but it should be for some casual event, like a Commander league or something.
Mana Crypt is gorgeous, and will never be less than a hundred dollars.
Doubling Season is fine as a promo, but the art isn't that great. I usually enjoy interpretive works, even symmetrical ones, but this one doesn't move me. Maybe it's the photo.

You are aware that EDH essentially started as a judge format, and that Sheldon Menry, long considered the top of the judge program, is virtually it's father?
Night time at PT's and such is usually spend playing retarded complex EDH. I like seeing cards like this, with SWEET art.

The mods getting excited is so fun. Doubling season is awesome!
I'd like to say that "Now I can get a Doubling Season for cheap", but I can't. Too bad. Lucky judges.
Doubling Season may not be a tournament staple, but it's one of, if not the most popular cards in casual.

Since when are judges not allowed to play? In the tournaments they help run sure. But I like me some wastelands ect ect.
Confused level 1 judge. That has worked on and played in GPs in the last year
