Hey guys, I kinda want to see the numbers on this. One of our vaults had the demonic tutors one didn't. If one of your vaults had it check yes, let's figure out exactly what the odds were.
This poll makes no sense - what if all 54 people from one event that got a special helvault marked yes...
Yeah.
If you vote "Yes" you should post the exact event location/date, that way it would make sense. Otherwise random people will just pop in and vote yes (or no) just to mess with the results for ****s and giggles, and there could be duplicate Yes's or No's for the same event even if people vote honestly.
If there's one post about the specific event to back up every one "Yes" vote it would actually be useful, as it is now it's kind of random and meaningless.
So why not give everyone a foil Avacyn or Griselbrand? That fits a lot more with the theme and doesn't devalue judge promo's. It all seems very weird. If it all is true, WotC managed to botch up another prerelease imo. They really need to stop doing these random things that they send out. Especially if it is so valuable. If some helvaults had only foil oversized or foil tokens, that would be ok.
Sending out $100 cards to a very small section of players, not my idea of fun.
I guess OP wants it to be 'keyworded' like "dies" was. What word would you replace ETB with though?
When Aegis Angel is born?
When Huntmaster of the Fells arrives?
When Kitchen Sphinx lands?
When Faerie Imposter busts in?
When Dread Cacodemon pops in?
When Malfegor shows up?
im interested in seeing the statistic
pretty much seeing how much people got screwed over
Screwed over? SCREWED OVER?
Seriously, some people here need to chill out. Did you get screwed over because none of your Zendikar packs did contain Black Lotus or Mox?
This is the same thing. People get free stuff as a bonus to the standard prerelease, and they are still complaining because somebody got something better.
I am glad that Wizards done this, after, quite predictably, some jerk opened the Helvault a week before and leaked its contents to the internet.
Now all who haven't been to Helvault opening can look forward to it again - because the chance to see something different is here.

Yeah cause when I join an event that gives everyone a FREE door prize and I get a worse free door prize then someone else I feel screwed over too...
If its literally a 15000% difference in value. If a place gave out ten dollar subway coupons or a free Acura, wouldn't you feel a little ripped if all you got was the subway coupon?

Your first point is valid however.
As Magic players, I think we've gotten used to seeing other players opening better stuff than us in their booster packs. This isn't much different.
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
If a place gave out ten dollar subway coupons or a free Acura, wouldn't you feel a little ripped if all you got was the subway coupon?
I wouldn't feel "ripped off," I would feel jealous. These people saying they've been "ripped off" because theirs didn't contain anything special haven't been ripped off; they're just being petty because they're jealous of those lucky enough to get something special and they're trying to legitimize their jealousy by claiming they've somehow been wronged.
What's the alternative in your example, that everyone gets crappy Subway coupons and no one gets the free car? They could've done the same with the Helvault... made them all uniform across the board. I can't imagine why anyone would consider that better than making a tiny fraction of them extra-special. Some people are acting like this is a slap to the face - that's absurd. If anything it's Wizards going out of their way to do something nice for its fans.... God forbid.
If you show up at an event I host and I give everyone a free scratchticket... and 49 people win nothing and 1 person wins 100 dollars it's ridiculous to be angry at me because one person was lucky enough to win. It's just thinly veiled envy and misdirected frustration.
People should be happy for those that "win" rather than carry on like petulant children because they're upset that they themselves didn't.
Would've been reaally bad if the one that the ebay jerk had cracked had been one of these. I can't even imagine the outrage if everyone was expecting foil judge promos and got a regular Helavault. That said, I'm going to a Prerelease tomorrow and will be happy regardless of what our Helavault contains. I'm going for the experience, anything above and beyond that is a bonus.
I wasn't able to attend my LGS's tournament today, but I just called and they told me they opened a single judge foil Dark Confidant in their helvault.

Wait like just one? Or one for each person? If it was just one, how do you decide who gets it? Event winner?
i was ok with the whole vault not having any foils or tournament legal cards (save for the tokens) and then i heard some people got FOIL versions of everything plus a 100$ bill folded on the shape of middle finger to show their friends.
Wait like just one? Or one for each person? If it was just one, how do you decide who gets it? Event winner?
Just one singular card. The winner hadn't been decided when I called as they had *just* opened it, but they said they were simply going to do a giant dice roll-off.

I agree.
People are arguing about some getting a free item worth a certain amount versus others getting a more expensive free item of another amount. As long as the Helvaults were distributed randomly among all stores, all players who attended an event had an equal chance of receiving any of the items.
Problem with this poll is that it wont do a good job showing hoe many stores have open them since many people could have went to the same prerelease. People should just list which stores/city got them.
As Magic players, I think we've gotten used to seeing other players opening better stuff than us in their booster packs. This isn't much different.
The difference is that this time, Wizards went out of their way to make sure we all knew how EPICLY AMAZING AND UNPARALLELED the contents of the Helvault were, and yet this is true *only some of the time*. It's annoying, at the very least.

I'd hardly call not getting free judge promos being screwed over, just disappointing.

The foil tokens in that pic seems to be conclusive proof that this hidden treasure thing is real.

well at least i trade for some sweet cards.
