Well....they're uncommons, at the very least. If there's a bunch of renowned creatures that get played (which I highly doubt), then the second one could see fringe play. The first card isn't terrible, but at the same time, it's basically like a Vigilant Siege Rhino if it gets to connect.
Confirms the expected: the GW archetype is Renown, and it's based out of Bant. (Nice shot of the Seaside Citadel in the background behind the Castellan. Nice flavor text, too, for that matter.)
And would you look at that, Renown goes a bit deeper than the basic first layer: another bit of Green card draw, in this case. Very Green draw effect, caring about creatures connecting and growing.
...honestly, I'm higher on Renown than most seem to be, at least in limited: load up on a bunch of them, and a few will inevitably break through and get both the power-up and whatever secondary benefits tie into being Renowned. (It's nice that the Wardens have Renown themselves, so even if you don't get any other creatures with the ability into play with it, it still can provide one-time card draw.)

So you have Alara in GW, and Theros in either RW or UW. I would kinda like to see UW just to that Gideon's story would put him into Bant, but I don't think that's too likely with Jace walking to Ravnica

Bant has at least one blue creature confirmed as well in the form of Jhessian Thief. I don't think the planes are restricted to 2 colors. We've also seen at least three colors from Lorwyn already, as I recall black and green lorewyn elves and red boggarts from the spoilers. I wouldn't be surprised if many planes had all colors, although Bant itself probably can't have black or red due to the Alara sharding mess.
I suspect the color pairs will have more to do with mechanical themes and strategies than planes.

Indeed. Not to mention the Obelisk of Bant in the Wardens' background

Let's not forget that we also now have a decent picture of Topan Freeblade.
Is that for real?
Oh my the amount of SHINE is absurd!!!!
And to chime in, Citadel Castellan is bonkers. This is what gold cards need to do. Gold in essence should be strictly more powerful than its monocolor equal. It needs to be that way to incentivize drafters to pick them. I like that it's hard to block at 2/3, and makes for an interesting block/not-to-block decision.

The planes aren't strictly tied to colors in origins. You can put just about any color card in the set and have it flavored to be from any plane, but the draft archetypes that are associated with each plane are going to be two color.
I guess we can check off Bant as being the green/white color pair. Also, looks like their theme is definitely renown and/or +1/+1 counters matter.
You're half-right.
The other part being that Bant isn't totally green-white. There's Jhessian Thief, which is blue.
They ment the GW archetype will have Bant flavor to it.

Pretty sure that Bounding Krasis confirms Ravnica as U/G. Theros should be R/W with Gideon being from Akros and all.
edit: thanks to the posters above that pointed out the seaside citadel and the obelisk of bant being depicted in the arts for these two cards. Good LORD! This set is just dripping with flavor! I love it.

Yeah, this. It's been obvious for some time now that the planes represented in the set won't be restricted to two colors, but that they'll tend towards a certain color pair for archetype purposes.
Ah, there's the Sylvan Echoes-style enabler that looks really good on paper, and turns out to be complete rubbish in real life.
Well this one might see some limited play - a 1/3 for 3 is bad (but still better than an enchantment, since it can at least block some things), but if it can connect it becomes a real creature (though getting it to connect at turn 4 might be a problem)
Tarmagoyf is, with a little work, and undercosted 4/5.
Citadel Castellan is, with a little work, an undercosted a 4/5 with vigilance.
Obviously goyf is way better and whatever, and not only because he costs one less and is better in the mid to late game (since he doesn't need to swing to get big), but it's notable that they do the same job in a similar way. Also noteworthy: castellan will be available in the very small post-rotation card pool, and aggro decks usually dominate immediately post rotation. Castellan seems like an excellent answer to aggro.
I bet it sees serious play but is quickly outclassed by more specialized role-players as the card pool grows again.
Now what we need is a spell that says something like "Put two +1/+1 counters on up to two target creatures. If a creature is given a counter this way, it becomes renowned."
