I like it! Sure, 4 cmc lords usually aren't that great, especially in these days of Collected Company, but 4 toughness, 3 power, reach, and all that life gain helps make up for it quite a bit. The art isn't bad either. I doubt it'll be played outside of Standard, but I think it will be good enough for Standard if an elf-tribal deck turns up, especially only as a 1 or 2 of. Might be useful in some EDH decks as well.
Nice! Seems like an auto-include in Elf Tribal EDH decks.
No clue how it slots into 60-card elves in various formats, but might it make elves a thing in Standard...? I'd give it a whirl, especially with Collected Company in Standard.
He must be Rhys the Exiled's cousin with that triggered ability.
Now that you mention, I'd almost be disappointed now if she isn't related to Rhys. That can't be a coincidence.
It's weird seeing a Lorwyn-style elf drawn in a very not-Lorwyn style. Pretty though. I wish her trigger were more like Rhys as well so she could come down turn 4 and get immediate value instead of needing to attack herself. I also kind of wish she were a 3-drop to grab off Collected Company. One or the other. Though if 2-drop mana dorks are the standard now, I supposed being a 4-drop would synergize better.
They didn't care that he was the savior of Fort Keff, the great hunter of Ondu, the champion of Kabira. To them, he was just another piece of flesh, a thing with life to be drained away.
seems pretty strong if theres enough good elves in standard.
edit: there were none in tarkir
Or Theros. At least we know Zendikar has elves.
Seems like a pretty weak lord, but a decent card in general, though. Rhys the Exiled didn't force other elves to attack, and had a way to ensure he survived combat. Of course, pumping up your team is pretty important.
Edit: just to give reasons - any elf lord above cmc 3 is bad or it needs a really powerful effect to make it worth it. This card has no such powerful effect. Elves' weakness is control, with lots of mass removals, gaining life is pointless. Reach is a semi-relevant ability in green, since they lack fliers, but pointless on this card. This is a waste of a legendary elf slot and I am sad by that.

Hmph....guess that answers who Nissa's legendary will be.
Hopefully this set and BFZ block will have some nice elves to play around with. I'd love to be able to play Elf Tribal in Standard after four years of blocks with either no elves or no elf synergy.
I know how much everyone wants a new good elf lord, but as soon as I saw 4 CMC, I suspected it would be bad. Then I saw the abilities, and my suspicions were confirmed. And it's legendary, making it that much worse.

Okay, someone explain to me why he has an ability that encourages you to attack, an ability that encourages you to block, and no vigilance? Or better, don't.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Meh. Elves in Standard and Modern will want to use Collected Company a lot more than this, and the two don't belong in the same deck. I'm not convinced this is playable.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

It seems like you can play around three creatures that cost more than 3 CMC in the average collected company deck, but there's no way I can see this being one of them unless there's very heavy support for elf tribal at lower CMC riding along side. (In standard, obviously. In modern it's - generously - at best an oddball elf deck sideboard option vs. burn)
