Pretty sure it will still count the spells you already played that turn even if you flickered it. It's a red way to cast suspend spells. Seems good but idk if costing four will hinder it. Maybe not, since red can ritual it out

Protection from reason (Decadent_Creed can't be blocked, targeted, dealt damage, or enchanted by reason.)
Modern playable. Good card in limited ( as you can play more greed decks, greed mana bases) as long as you don’t only count on it to cast splashed cards.
I'll take four foils thank you, clearly best card of the set.

Why, yes, I would like to cast a kicked Rite of Replication for only five mana.
Wouldn't you need to have 9 lands on the board to do so?
I certainly like the card, but the land drawback will keep this one in check a bit.

Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
I think people are overhyping this card. Taking instants away from Red decks is a huge deal. And being limited to two spells a turn basically means one spell a turn since you’re going to have to burn one spell most turns to draw cards to get any real use out of this effect.

No, you don't. I assume it works like other similar effects. Check As Foretold, for instance. When casting as a spell with an alternate cost, you are allowed to pay additional costs (i.e Kicker) but not other alternative costs. (i.e. Emerge). This should allow you to cast a kicked Rite of Replication for five I'm the same manner.
Even if you play this Turn 4, follow it up with another 4 drop that same turn, and then the following turn play another land and up to 2 five drops for free, you can't play more than 2 spells per turn, whether you pay with mana or not.
Two spells max is terrible
No need for the extra restriction of your turn only too
I don't think that's true. Imagine being able to play 2 free counter spells on your opponent's turn. That's super broken. Also, playing too many free spells on your turn is also broken. I'm convinced there will be some super strong plays with this card in Standard. Free mana in Magic is generally known to be completely overpowered. Phyrexian mana was a mistake. Free spells are USUALLY a mistake. Moxen, Black Lotus, Gush, Daze, Treasure Cruise, Dig Through Time... Free spells and even in some of these cases spells that are drastically undercosted(after Delve) are too strong. Were they maybe a little too cautious with this card? Maybe, I don't think so, but maybe. We'll see in time, I suppose; but it seems incredibly strong to me.

If it didn't have the spell limit and didn't have the speed limit, its as good as or better than Aluren, bonus is its also less color-intensive.

Can we please go at least one standard set without a new way to cheatyface the costless suspend cards? This is literally the third straight standard set with a card that lets you do that haha
this card is weird.
in a vacuum, not good.
but powerful enough to be broken in the right deck.
I mean... if you flick it with Flickerwisp-esque effects after you cast your 2 free spells, you can still cast stuff from your regular mana, and then it comes back.
you can use to cheat the costless suspend cards.
it's one of those cards that will either generate a crazy degenerate deck and break some format apart, or won't do *****.

Nope, land drawback only cares about CMC, which makes this card really good with cards that have expensive kicker effect.
Thanks for the clarification. Looks like fun for those high kicker cost spells. And yes this will be part of some degenerate combo deck in Modern at some point I would imagine.

Shouldn't it be better with expensive cards with a cheap kicker effect?? That way you get most of the spell for free (assuming you have enough lands in play).
