So, my early impression on Arena is that this deck utterly gets its teeth kicked in by Teferi, Time Raveler. You either have a Spell Pierce for it, or you lose. Only a few matches in, but it seems bad for us.

    Standard Forum Rules and Regulations

In addition to the General Forum Rules, we have a set of forum-specific rules for Standard that we want everyone posting here to read and follow. Violations of the forum rules result in warnings or infractions.

    1. Discussion of spoiled cards must be confined to the Standard New Card Discussion subforum just preceding rotation. New sets are okay to discuss in the rest of the Standard forum unless rotation will coincide with their arrival. Post-rotation discussion is also not permitted until the new block has been fully spoiled.
    2. Functional deck tags are required. This thread explains how to use deck/card tags.
      • Do not copy and paste deck lists from MWS, as they do not work within deck tags.
      • For Single Card Discussions (SCD), using card tags is mandatory.
    3. Post in the correct forum.
    Standard Subforum rules:
We also have specific rules for the Standard subforums, please read them if you intend to participate in those subforums.
    General reminders:
    • Do you wonder what Standard is? This link will tell you.
    • You can change the title of your own threads by using the "edit"-button, then "Go Advanced". So if you forgot to add thread tags to your thread, or you used the wrong tags, you can correct this yourself.
    • Check our pinned threads. For example, don't post a thread asking which deck to run, post in this thread instead.
    • Doubleposting, provided it isn't spam, is allowed. That said, we encourage you to please use the "edit"-button in the lower-right corner.
      • If you want to quote multiple posts, use the multi-quote feature.
      • Posting just to bump threads is not okay, regardless of how much time has passed.
      • Excessive multiposting is considered poor internet etiquette.
If you have questions, concerns or comments regarding these rules, or anything related to how the Standard forum is run, please post them in the "Open Discussion on Standard Forum Rules, Policy and Setup" or "Standard Forum Helpdesk" thread, or message them to one of the Standard Forum moderators.

    Happy posting!

Had a good day today, went 19-2 in Bo1 play on Arena and went from Bronze to Gold (I just started playing Arena this week). Competition wasn't all that strong and no sideboarding, but still pretty happy with that record.

Rujasu - Since you're running 19 land, have you considered the extra Island SB?
It is a rare deck that plays extra land in the Sideboard. Maybe 1%, maybe less.

I mention it because it was in Burchett's SB when they won the MC. I don't know if it's optimal or not, just throwing it out there.

Anyone interested in an updated version of this thread? I'm just getting back into Standard, but overall it seems like a good time for budget players with mono-U being a cheap deck that just won the MC, and mono-R being a popular cheap deck as always. I'm sure a White Weenie deck can be assembled without too much money as well, and it's a straightforward archetype to learn for new players. Any other good options we could highlight?

it's the systemic toxicity in this and other male nerd dominated hobbies that continues unabated.

Anything male-dominated, really. It's not limited to nerds and it's not limited to hobbies.

it increases the consistency of spreading seas effect, to grant islandwalk to the team. (it would be copies 5-6 or 5-7)

Sure, but it's completely redundant if you already have Spreading Seas or if your opponent is already playing an Island (and there is a lot of blue right now).

Also, I've played Spell Pierce in the mainboard recently, and... don't. There are too many matchups right now where it is just not useful.

Remember, don't put too much stock in week one results. It's common for aggro to dominate early on, before people figure out what the answers for it are. A few weeks from now, these archetypes may be long gone.

Does anyone have a good landbase suggestion for a white splash? I want to try out Authority of the Consuls

I don't think Authority is worth it at all, but if you're looking to splash white, start with Wanderwine Hub, Seachrome Coast, and maybe Hallowed Fountain. Splashing white for creatures is a bit easier because you can use Cavern of Souls, but most of the white stuff we'd want to splash for is spells, since white answers a lot of things that blue has trouble with.
