Feb 4, 2014Druki posted a message on Launch Giveaway!Spirit of the Night. When I was starting out, I loved big big creatures but black was my go-to color. This ended up with me doing some sort of shenanigan to get them out a little bit quicker, like playing multiple rituals out or reanimating them. While cards like Avatar of Woe or Scion of Darkness are some of my faves, Spirit is my favorite. If anything, it just has a weird but creepy/cool art.Posted in: Announcements

Yeah, it's definitely a deal.
But like, when they said each pack is 3-7 cards, I (and I'm sure others) thought that excluded tokens.
I think, based on just seeing the cats and Bitterblossom, this can be a step in the right direction even if some of these sets flop. They can really do any number of themes to fit any demand, and people can buy to fit their personal demand (someone may have several decks that need a Bitterblossom(s))
The upside to this change is that it's printed to demand within that 24hr period. If you can place your order, you will get your product (unlike the Mythic sets).
The downside is if you can't make the date or just forget, tough luck and get it from a reseller. A slightly longer period would be most appreciated (48hrs? A week?).
Also, I don't think I read anywhere that they'll be limiting how many a customer can purchase.
Seems like an ok middle ground of things like FTV/masterpieces/mythic sets. Kind of a bummer they're only available for 24hrs each.
Hail to the king, this guy is pretty fun looking.
Honestly the late shipping is no surprise but I'm just glad I have shipping confirmation.
Yeah, this is a very hard three turns to overcome.
The only exception I can think of is the Domain mechanic from Conflux, which was added to a few cards retroactively from the Invasion/Planeshift era.
Afterlife seems like it'd be welcome in Orzhov Commander decks.
You forgot Instants, Sorceries, and Tribal
Great card, otherwise. Go ninja! Go ninja, go!
Would it have been less or more funny if it was Sliverstorm, a storm spell that makes Slivers?
Really I'm just trying to think of something a new lord could do. Landfall, but Slivers? Sliver God, requiring a devotion to Slivers? A Sliver vehicle?
Honestly, I'd like a functional reprint of Sliver Queen (Broodmother maybe?). Something that can make tokens without tapping.
It'll probably be classic slivers with the modern "all slivers you control" wording. Dominarian/Rathi Slivers seem to be a breed within the Sliver species, much like how elves, goblins, and merfolk can look different among the planes.
