WizardMN posted a message on Clarification on FadingIt might help to keep in mind that if it did work the way you thought, the "return those cards" ability would never do anything. You could remove all 5 counters, targeting the same thing if you wanted, and then it would have no counters so it would leave. Leaving would then cause it to return everything it exiled which would be nothing yet. And then everything is exiled permanently.Posted in: Magic Rulings
So, yeah there might be a slight disconnect based on the name of the mechanic, but it would prevent this card from working they way it is supposed to work.
Also, Vanishing works the way you think this does: as soon as the last counter is removed, the thing goes away. -

WizardMN posted a message on Clarification on FadingHere is the full rules entry for Fading:Posted in: Magic Rulings
702.31a. Fading is a keyword that represents two abilities. "Fading N" means "This permanent enters the battlefield with N fade counters on it" and "At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a fade counter from this permanent. If you can't, sacrifice the permanent."
So, yes, it can stick around with no counters on it. At least, until your next upkeep. -

apocalypse31 posted a message on Peyton Manning as a commander ???Besides that they are three, Sen Triplets fits the theme.Posted in: Commander (EDH)
Ayesha Tanaka is thematic.
Edric, Spymaster of Trest is good for Manning's playstyle, the longer he plays, the more it snowballs and becomes impossible to stop.
Roon of the Hidden Relms could also work as blinking tricks. -

They tried, but it seems he blinked off of the print run. -

I'd take it as a compliment if somebody ran out Chill on Norin. I doubt it'd slow us down, too much.
Damn straight.
It doesn't do much unless dropped turn 2, where it's mildly annoying if you have a rockless hand.
That being said...
Strionic Resonator seems like it most certainly gets a spot in the deck. I mean, look at all those triggered abilities to proc -

trancekat posted a message on [[Primer]] Norin the Wary - Heads I win, Tails you lose. This brings up an interesting point. Ive started to swap out my ultra expensive cards for proxies in my decks. Think about it. When i walk into an LGA with my kitty (Sharuum) deck, im walking in with several thousands of dollars in cards, in one little box. Far too dangerous in my opinion (...and i work in risk management).Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
I recommend using good proxies of your high value cards.. as long as you really have those cards of course. Best part is, you can use better art! - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

There's a lot of upside to this card, imho. However, I've been out of the standard game since the beginning of Theros.

These cards remind me of mid 90's websites.

We all reserve the right to do a lot of things when it comes to this game. Doing that which may seem harsh, or unbending, such as exerting your rights to not give a take-back, can be presented in such a way that it is educational... not off-putting. Even more so when the context was a causal game. If a player is that dedicated then he/she should be playing like-minded/skilled players as iron-sharpens-iron.
It's shameful that there is such an air of magnanimity with our community. It would not have been hard to note her level of skill and thus been able to adjust any operating "tolerances".
(Sorry, the use of the word "tolerate" got me riled up. You may not have meant to, but, in my minds ear, it sounded so incredibly arrogant.)
