  • posted a message on What's your favorite sport and why?
I guess my favorite is Tennis. It does have a very physical aspect to it. It also has a very skill aspect to it. It even has a mental aspect to it. None of the three aspects (except maybe skill) will win it for you alone. Just because your opponent is 6'8 and in better shape doesn't mean you can't win. But at the same time you have to be in damn good physical shape to be competitive. Its also a sport you can play into your elderly years if you adjust the pace. I know a bunch of old guys that still play and the eldest is in his mid 80's. Its a different game than what the college kids play of course.

How many NFL guys will even be able to walk in their 60's?

Except the Black Knight was more mature than Kim Jong-un, and he probably had a better education, too.

Hey. He worked very hard to threaten his teachers under pentalty of death to give him an A.

Yes thats what I meant. Basically tis a moot point as they will just let you keep it. Or if they REALLY want to they could sac 8 life but thats stupid against a burn deck.

Thus earning North Korea a surefire entry on the "top 10 dumbest decisions of the 21st century" list.

This reminds me of another classic battle in world history.

    lol. Yes it does

I built a deck with 16 6-8 cost fatties. I made it where basically I want to see every card that I can cast. Just went t1- nothing. t2- ramp. t3 unexpected results and no matter what I get I either get a second shot with ramp or I get something amazing. And If I ramp enough anyway I get to cast my fatties no problem. It wasn't competitive but it was fun. I went 2-2 at the Local FNM with the build.

If I remember I beat UWR control and I think Jund Midrange but got beat bad by zombies and RDW. But this was right after Gatecrash.

Vexing Devil only works if it sticks. So its like
Tap red. Cast Vexing Devil. Response?
Opponent: nah you can let him stay.

Then it resolves and if it dies you can cast undying evil. But from what I understand you CANNOT cast it in response to the opponent sacing 4 life to remove it.

The veil is just such a good card. Its not that good in standard but its amazing in other formats like legacy and modern (moreso modern). She discards, kills and basically wins if she ultimates. Honestly I would get the 1 liliana instead of the 3 bad ones. Especially if you already have one. Then you can trade around and get a 3rd and you will never have a point in time where you would need a 4th. Playsets of plainswalkers is really a bad idea unless you just want them for multiple decks.

Also new liliana isnt' worht much now and she isn't ever going to go back up in price. Of the viel will retain its value for several years to come if not go up

why undying evil? What are you using it on? The undying evil + Vexing devil thing doesnt' work. That ruling was pretty clear when the card first arrived.

  • posted a message on There are too many good cards in Standard
You are right in one way but wrong in another. There are ZERO good draw spells and ZERO really good removal. There are no Dismember, doom blade, go for the throat, Terminate, Ponder, Brainstorm, Mana leak.

So there are really good cards but there is a significant lacking in draw, countermagic and kill spells. Also there is a MASSIVE lack of cheap sweepers. Pyroclasm, slagstorm, whipflare and the like are gone so if you wanna play sweepers play Esper control or get out.

  • posted a message on Opinion on Jace, Architect of Thought???
Tiz the worst of the Jaces so far methinks. I don't know why people took so long to get on the Memory Adept bandwagon. I was using him all last season with great sucess. I'm glad I have a playset and got each for less than 10 dollars. Now he is over 20 and I might sell him as I don't know how long he'll retain value. A friend of mine bought a playset of architect of thought and has done nothing but loose money on it.

Original Jace is pretty good as its not amazing but its a 3cmc walker that does goodstuff.

And mindsculpter is stupiud. Shouldn't have been printed.

Mono black control or "mostly" black control is where its at with her. Unfortunatly the BEST way and reason to use her is simply to fetch shocklands which traditionally aren't budget. And she isn't ramp. She is land tutor. The only time the tutor would be good is for shocks. Otherwise why bother?

And then her Ultimate is pretty sweet. It reads "If you have an X spell in hand you win". But Crypt ghast might be better. If you run a mostly black or mono Swamp control then you could use her along side crypt ghast and if you can get your hands on shocklands she might be of use.

This would not be the first time they tried to get attention. But at the same time they are the only country right now that is crazy enough to actually do this....

America is NOT a popular country in the world but no one really wants to go to war with us for the most part. Well I take that back. No 1st world nation wants to go to war with us right now. Korea has a lot of devastating potential and unfortunatly what NEEDS to happen would be a total worldwide effort to stop North Korea. I would hate to have to invade the country but if China and Russia would abandon them or even better join forces AGAINST them it could be done swiftly and correctly. Potentially even decemate the north Korean political system and make it simply "Korea" again by giving it all back to the south Koreans.

  • posted a message on Living off Loans
I wasn't planning on using all 20k of the loan but simply what I needed. I did the math and only need about 20k for both years unless I quit my job in my senior year which would mean I would probably need to get more.

But about 5-800 would do a month. And I don't live at home with my parents so when i'm not in school I'm not simply going to be going home. and I"ll be taking summer courses. So In reality I won't have any time off.

But that should cover my rent and some other bills as well. It all depends if I get a roommate or not. I posted my thread before about my friend becoming my roomamte and I think that was the first thread on the "advice" forum that I have seen get put down.....

But reguardless of Debt being good or bad after the math was done it seems almost stupid not to. I work 12 hour nights 3 nights a week and my current classes are only 4 days a week so I can get by. But my last two years will be 5 days a week so I won't have the 3 day weekend to work. And unless I wanna stay up all day doing schoolwork, then work 12 hours at night and then stay up all day AGAIN I have to cut my hours to 2 days a week or less.

And 12 months at 800 a month lends out to be just shy of 10k a year so 20k for both years seems legit. Any money I save up or don't use can go right into paying it off. If I can make it by with only using 500 a month instead of 800 then I"ll save 7,200 to put back on that 20k loan.
