Hey, sorry if there is already one posted in this thread already but could someone refer me to a refined competitive GAA4 1v1 normal edh rules stax list? Sounds like you guys really know what you're talking about and I've been jonesin for some stax. Thanks in advance for any help!
With the updated list, do you find you might run out of has too soon and have no way to reload your hand? I've noticed that most post FtR decks neglect any forms of card advantage like chandra/read the bones. Is it just for the sake of being more aggressive?
Hey forumgoers, I'm going to be making my first EDH deck. Like I'm sure most people do, I'm struggling with picking a commander. I do know however, that I want to win. I don't care about people frowning upon me playing a certain deck or pulling off a 'jerk' combo. In your opinions, which commander is the: absolute best when it comes to 1v1 matches? The best when it comes to 1v1's but WITHOUT combo kills? What about for multiplayer? PS I'm sorry in advance if I'm posting this in the wrong spot.
Yea, I am already reworking my esper control deck into bant control just because of Ajani, and your thoughts of him as a 2 of is just about right. It also opens up green sideboard options which mean I will also be running some BoG's cards finally which aren't lands haha
ALSO, I can really see Turbo Fog and Maze's End decks being on a big rise because like the last poster said, they are getting some big key cards for their strategy that they really needed to work. My only problem with this type of deck being tier 1 is the fact that boros burn is still a deck
You'd need to add some serious creatures into that bant list to make remotely worth-it use of Ajani.
People are underestimating the power of her card advantage potential. An enchantment deck will emerge, if even one or two more constellation enablers are printed it will easily be a powerful deck. The synergy she will have will be amazing.
No, we aren't. You're overestimating her abilities to make tokens. She requires bodies in the graveyard to make snakes and, not only that, her ability exiles bodies from graveyards so the more you use it, the less you can use it. There's no way you're cranking out enough snakes to make that ability useful in anyway shape or form. And if you want to hose your opponents graveyard, there's a slew of ways to do it that don't give your opponents free deathtouching chump blockers. And if it's a big beater your looking for, there's a ton of them as well that don't require 7 devotion. She has no evasion whatsoever. She can't even get past the snakes you're giving your opponents (IF they have any creatures in their graveyard in the first place).
The card sucks. She flatout sucks. There's nothing that she can do that a ton of other cards can't do much better. There are far better token makers, far better graveyard hosers, and far better beaters.
I think creating the occasional death touch enchant snake for 2 and a body is pretty good actually. It just doesn't fit in the current GB dredge deck which is why people are so mad. Yes it isn't good on it own. It's a piece of the build around puzzle.
The occasional deathtouch enchantment snake is exactly why this card is not good. It's not worth the mana you need to spend to cast it or the turn you spend casting it.
This logic seems flawed in that you're saying he has protection because he is not as good as the other cards you hope to have on the battlefield at the same time as him. That's like saying that flame-wreathed phoenix is a good and standard playable card because stormbreath dragon is better.
No offense, but I have a hard time imagining this deck beating affinity. Spear of heliod is way too slow and dawn charm means you're not spending any mana on your turn to help your case in the long run.
How do you guys deal with splintertwin? I don't see a way to beat it game one. I played a handful of no-sideboarding games last night, and although I held counters for their combo, they always had dispel/remand to help the combo stick. I couldn't tap out turn 3 for geist either in fear of them flashing in exarch, and then on their turn going off with splintertwin. Is the answer just more counters? I know game two we can side in spellskite/counterflux/any other kind of hate, but those games were just so painful. Any help is appreciated!
Prostitution is against the law, while smartmouth comments on twitter aren't.
Image control is an excuse. It is morally wrong(IMO) to ban someone from any (E)Sport for anything they post on twitter. Because when you start banning people(or increasing ban lengths) because of something someone said on twitter, you have to ban every single player that ever types anything comparably "rude" on twitter to be fair. Why ban only high level players? Why not get a team of people to search every players twitter for derogatory comments against Wotc? BECAUSE THAT IS RIDICULOUS! Where is the line? Can they ban a Pro because he said he likes Yugioh/LoL/WoW better and that it hurts their image? What if a pro expresses his dislike for a new set? Can they ban him because they deem that it will hurt sales?
Look, it's their game, their events, they can do whatever they want. Nobody feels bad for people being douche bags on the internet and getting banned from official tournaments. If I allow a group of people to come into my house and draft, and then someone cheats, or screams the F word, or bangs my sister, I'm not letting that A-hole back into my house. Wizards just happens to have many houses that these people are not allowed to play events in anymore.
I've been watching every video of people using this deck on the internet lately, and I've noticed how much of a problem Liliana causes for the deck. I was trying to think of an answer that won't get us 2-for-1'd, and I came to the conclusion that the best way to kill a +1'd Liliana could be boros charm. I know the general consensus on that card is that it's bad here, but in a case where Lily is +1ing instead of making us sac our dude, maybe it works well? Plus a 4 damage dome-burn spell is nothing to scoff at with snappy in the deck. AND it allows us to swing another day with geist if we so choose, no matter how many blockers they assign. Any other opinions??
It's pretty meh, you can pay 8 mana and three colors to draw 4 cards and get 4 crappy tokens at sorcery speed. I would rather just play Sphinx's Revelation, get 6 life and 6 cards at instant speed.
This is honestly a little disappointing considering this is a rare Fuse card, and sadly probably one of the better ones.
The left side of the card is good by itself though.

What have I done >_>
That's some bad math.
