I really hate that warrior. Never thought I would see the day that I wanted Magic to shift away from creature focused but I'm there now. That card is just stupid...
My goodness these things are ugly. Holy cow...my eyes hurt and strain just to read them and the art box seems smaller than usual. I get the idea to make it seem like you're peering through pillars...but it's execution is far worse than the idea. Yuck. I'll be gladly selling off any of these that I pull - give me the OG art instead.
A bummer because I was really banking on Worship being in here but now I don't even want it
Complete garbage. 3 fetches and not a single other card over $4 including the foils. The hell with Wizards. I'm done with this game.
Tired of every box and fat pack being a total waste of money. $189 plus shipping for $75 worth of cards. What a big middle finger to their customers.
Uh... don't most customers know that buying any 'randomized' product is akin to buying lottery tickets? Some boxes will be above the average Expected Value, most will be below, and when you buy one you do so knowing that to be the case? If every box was above the EV... that wouldn't be the EV. They aren't actually printing money. They aren't creating wealth, giving everyone stuff worth more than they paid for it.
Of course I know that. But it's every damn box. They don't need to make me rich. Just have value in them. Negative $110 isn't even close to value. Random always means complete garbage with Wizards product. I'm sick of it. In a masterpiece set don't fill it with $2 mythical and charge $10 a pack. Shame on me for having any hope I guess. No more. Same garbage every Masters set. I'll take my money to a hobby that provides something for my money other than a box full of nothing.
I feel like you need a reality check.
This is a form of entertainment - a game, which is produced for profit by the company making it. Pretty standard issue. Tell me, how much money do you get back after paying for a round of golf? How much do you get back when you buy a new console or PC game? How much hard cash are you making back when you go to the movies?
Listen, I'm not normally one to defend this game. But, if you're willing to buy a box of cards with full awareness of the randomization, then it's on you. Wizards isn't misrepresenting this game - they don't even set the secondary market price in the first place. So, your "negative $110" isn't even determined by Wizards!
You need to come to the realization that this is a form of entertainment - not an investment. However, it just SO happens that the community and vendors of the product have set it up so uniquely that you can actually get everything you want for the EXACT dollar amount that you're willing to pay. You want exactly $189 plus shipping worth of cards? You can buy the singles you want that add up to $189 plus shipping! You have that option! YAY!
Yucky - this is the first disappointing one for me. Both for the art and for the rarity. Personally, I'm still going to be chasing the original printing.
Because a card that generates it's own infinite loop (not counting lands) is the same thing as a card that depends on an additional 1 to 3 other cards? SMH.
Didn't realize a card had to be an exact reprint for it to be compared to something. The card is similar enough (given a totally different environment) to be mentioned as a comparison
It doesn't. But a 3-card combo barely warrants comparison to a self-contained 1-card engine.
Again, this card exists in an entirely different environment with a completely different design philosophy driving the Magic: The Gathering game. Both cards are blue, both cards are big creatures, both cards generate a resource when they enter the battlefield, both can use that resource to bounce back to their hand - both of those resources can be used to cast additional cards or activate additional abilities the turn the card comes into play.
That is enough to warrant comparison (nobody is saying this is as good nor better than Palinchron). Say what you will from here on out, I'm done spending my ENERGY

Why are we comparing this to Palinchron? Palinchron is good because it can generate mana. This thing makes energy, but it costs a ton of mana to do so.
Aetherworks Marvel uses the same 6 energy that this creates. Meaning that with a way to bounce you can use that energy in a very similar way to mana. It's not the same but but it is similar enough to compare the two.
Well, the Scion player and the Uril player are actually husband and wife. They are pretty good about playing neutrally until the games get close and then there is a clear favoritism. Anyway, I ended up getting my board targeted by Sion's suite of removal. Meanwhile, Uril is building a solid boardstate with Assemble the Legion packed with counters, Champion of Lambholt, a slew of Auras powering up Uril, and a few other protective pieces. Her deck has a go-wide mode and a voltron mode.
So the play...It's Uril's turn, Assemble the Legion triggers and 6 tokens come in to boost Champion of Lambholt. She then casts Elemental Mastery on Uril who becomes a 11/11, taps him and makes 11 more tokens. She attacks Sion with her 23/23 Champion, and sends the 17 tokens my way all of which cannot be blocked (enough for lethal to both of us). Using Vedalken Orrery to grand flash to my Blasphemous Act, I giggle as I kill everything except the Champion for just 1 red mana and sacrifice my Full Moon's Rise to regen my precious werewolves to prepare the kill on my turn. Or...so I thought...
She looks down at the last card in her hand as I am grinning gleefully believing I am pulling off a win with the coolest Blasphemous Act I have ever played. She looks up slowly, and reveals the card in her hand, Boros Charm, and facetiously asks me if it would be good to use right now...
Scion player and I both scream out loud with laughter and applaud the situation as she completes her victory.
Trying to piggyback on the success of DDA. Uses the name but has nothing in common with the actual idea. I feel like this is a super common trend for WOTC.
Formula:
1. Come up with a new idea that is successful due to its creativity, value, and execution.
2. Push out a second version with a similar name.
2a. eliminates creativity
2b. remove value by including junk
3. Profit

That would be cool. Except that Restore the Peace kind of just helps Inferno Titan
