Cursed of Stalked prey, or pierced heart can bring some faster speed to your side.
Rakish Heir and stromkirk captain bring more damage potential to the board. question is vamp midrange control, or vamp aggro.

Jun 16, 2013spoke with you on cockatrice, looking things over, on a limited budget. sideboard possible Talara's Bane (hate for g/w creatures + life gain)Posted in: thnkr Blog
if using arena, I'd recommend some amount of life gain. if board states stall out, you've put a clock on yourself. all they have to do is survive, you'll kill yourself for them.
towards that point, demonspine whip is a fine bit of equipment, but cheap and efficient is the order of the day.
that one costs you a ton of man to present an offense with.
Banshee's blade is a solid option. any combat damage equipped creature deals, puts counters on it. creature dies, the equipment retains counters. and equipment gives equipped +x/+x where x = counters on banshee's.
also Cardkingdom has it posted for 35 cents a copy. imagine other vendors are selling for lower.
I would also suggest Bloodhusk Ritualist, if you're going to keep a 24 land count for a slower aggro deck.
Great top deck, can rip apart an opponent's hand with just a couple of kicks. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
it would probably lead to wholesale harvesting of planeswalker sparks.
i mean.. what happens when a planeswalker has more than 1 spark?
you could technically have a loyalty ability that.. does nothing.
+1 : Look at your hand. (or reveal your hand, or anything that doesn't change board state)
it would tick up, and exist. then make cards that are parasitic towards planeswalker loyalty counters.
like a burn card that deals damage based on loyalty counters removed from your planeswalkers.
and two injector attendant's just allow you to make tokens each turn, no cost.
Hollow mother.. is.. a bit bonkers for token making.
even if you just cast, then -2. you still have 2 loyalty left for another run.
3 cmc for 2 tokens is.. about on par.
but there will need to be more ways to interact with planeswalkers for things like this to not get out of hand.
like any soul sister effect makes the penalty.. null. then it becomes a big spawner source.
i think this is better than lingering souls, and leagues better than bitterblossom.
as part of set design, specify what formats this would be legal in. block constructed only?
as soon as you can bring in some ajani cards, or the chain veil.. you may find yourself with a set with combotown.
hell, any of the oaths would be potentially brutal.
in standard a control deck can emerge anytime decent control cards get printed, and midrange and aggro are the primary contenders. the issue becomes when aggro and midrange become too efficient that control never emerges, which is most of what standard is now.. just a creature war.
interestingly, if you have bolt imprinted on scepter, and another bolt is in your graveyard, your cron activations will also charge ascension if it didn't already have 2 counters.
or Aether Hub.
like being unable to cast grasp of darkness until t4/5.
17 of your cards can't be cast until turn 3, with 24 lands, meaning your hands may end up cluttered heavily with lands/cards you can't use so you can't make any turn 1 or 2 plays except land drops.
As such your cmc is either too high on average, or your lifegain card counts are too low.
the counters are put on during resolution, not declaring, as they aren't part of the cost of the ability.
so 6th iteration first. 1 counter, doesn't transform.
5th 2 counters.. doesn't transform.
so forth until 2nd activation, where it sees that it has 5 counters, removes and transforms.
I think it may get a hatchling counter as abomination, but you would need to activate it 10 times to get enough counters.
there is not a scenario where it could be activated, in a vacuum, to transform and transform again. due to when it has transformed, it no longer has the activated ability to transform.
a flicker effect would return it to the battlefield as test subject, but it would not be the same legal entity, so any floating activations would likewise auto-counter.
Except the checklands, outside of finishing the cycle on innistrad, won't be printed outside of a core set. doubt checklands + tangolands. we'll end up with 4 color decks again like innistrad/rtr.
Design has said 3 colors is the max they ever want standard to support, and prefer dual/mono.
