The problem i have with Faeries in general is the early game speed it have against fast aggro and when it on the draw. Aether is just bonker because it give you more mana to initiate brutal eot, upkeep, and combat trick. For example, i had turn 3 vial with two counter against Doran and i go eot turn vendilion clique the guy response with path and i spellstutter out of nowhere and got so much value. By the next turn the opponent will probably facing down an upkeep Mistbind or have to play around a vialing Scion or 4 mana cryptic command. Thirst is just a card for digging power when you have a redundant vial or when you need to hit land. It been good so far since some of my opponent undervalue a thirst and just ignore it. Some people don't even consider how dangerous it is to go eot Thirst with vial on the field. Innitially i had goyf but scryb have better synergy with the deck. Plus hosing Delver and other blue friend and have combat capability is just gravy
Hey guy! I have been testing with a RUG version of Faeries and i must say it's something worth looking at because of how well it does against combo and aggro.
I know some of you think that allowing only Golgari and Vision for testing is not the best way but again this is my first attempt at testing out the Banned List. I just want to see how the testing will turn out by allowing only two cards and get feedback from people. If you guy think more cards should be allowed to used then there will always be more testing in the future for it.
So the result are Ancestral and Golgari have the most vote. So i decide to form an online cockatrice tournament similar to Lantern. This way, more people can test out deck with vision/golgari. I have to come up a reasonable time for registration so i'll get back as soon as possible.
@ Lantern, your reason does make lots of sense. If you guy would rather have 5 cards than 3 just tells me. The Poll end at tomorrow at 8:00 AM. After getting the poll result, i'll try to plan some testing with people on Cockatrice. Lantern if you want to host some sort of small tournament events in the near future for this banned list then that would be great.
i see. Hmm i'm planning to test the top 3 most voted. If you want to host a tournament with more card, you can use my poll and break off where you feel comfortable.
Base on the results so far, look like Ancestral, Bitterblossom, and Golgari are most voted. The deck i'm play testing is probably going to be U/B Faeries, B/W Token, and some sort of Cruel Control.
Right now i'm planning to test the top 3 card people voted for. However, during the next sessions i'm testing the next 3 follow up card so that almost all cards get a chance to be used. However, cards such as glimpse or hypergenesis i might not test at all unless people want me to do test it.
@bocephus
Like i said with Leh, everyone will get a chance to see all of these banned cards in testings so we'll see if the are truly safe to be unbanned. The poll just give me an insight which cards is the obvious choice to come off. I know some choice could be bias but that always happen to poll. Thank for your insight about the poll. also, card such as cloudpost and blazing shoal are subjective for testing because some people already know their power during PT Philly. However, i'm willing to test them.
P.S
If anyone play Modern extensively and know how to pilot some meta deck such as Jund and Pod, it would be great if some of you help me with testing.
I see what you mean. I thought about that while making the poll. The reason for having Ponder and other friend on the poll is because of future set. I think that as new sets come out, the power level of these banned card could be affected by new card. These new cards can weaken or make some of these card better. I know card like Blazing Shoal probably won't be tested but it won't hurt to have on the poll.
After thinking for couple of minute here is how the playtesting will run. If anyone want to playtest with me, simply send me a PM and we can set up a date for that. Remember, this play testing is simply use to give player more idea about the banned list. Please don't turn this thread into a second Banned List discussion. Furthermore, i will only allowed three card to come off the list based on the poll results.
4 Spellstutter Sprite
4 Scion of Oona

Sorry for the typo
Yeah i meant cards. I will run multiple sessions depending how much time i have since college start soon for me.
However, i guarantee there will be tons of playtesting despite my schedule.
Furthermore, i'll decide on what card will be legal for testing in three days base on the result of the poll.
