I'm running this list right now. So far, I've done pretty swell. Control match up is way better postboard.

Even with the Ashen Rider and the Sylvan, I was having problems dealing with D-Sphere and Elspeth so I board in the Glares.

3 Obzedat's Aid and 3 Whips have been working wonders for me. I feel like I can be a bit greedier with my Salvage's(casting it without a whip in hand or on board) because I run three.

If you ran obzedat main your control matchup would be virtually unloseable

Also...get rid of centaur healers for unflincing courages...healer is just garbage

I dont always rely on whipping things back. I have hard casted 7 and 8 drops ahead of curve.
I still have 2 sylvan primordials in my board. I will probably cut my UC for 2 luminate primordials.
Sylvan is a decent answer to d demon, but its hard to say demon will be a 6/6 still that late in the game.

I dont think sideboarding 1 very narrow card to answer those is needed.

Im just going to go up and over them and not worry about it. I think esper will be big this weekend and this deck wrecks esper hard. I may just board into 4 AoS or some number of white primordial.

I will never ditch salvage bc sometimes you need that land

Dark betrayal seems good against mono B as a 2 of...its very narrow though. Im probably going to run another ultimate price in my SB

Ashen rider or angel of serenity will never, ever deal with Blood Baron.

If i go to the $5k in Jacksonville this weekend and play this deck i will probably play some number of Luminate Primordial in my 75 to deal with Desecration Demons.

I have hard cast ashen riders and AoS before...its not uncommon.

Pretty much just avoid it, tap it down and swing around it or die to it. Post board you have ashen riders.
But yes...desecration demon is by far the biggest problem for this deck.

Cool, thanks! That's good information and yeah for some reason didn't think about Obzedat's Aid, that seems clearly better since you can bring back the Whip with it.

I do like Rot Farm, so maybe I'll try him as a 1 of and see how it goes. Also, in my experience Giant Adephage has been REALLY likely to make that token. You are right though, not 100%. Smile

OOC, what did you cut / move to sideboard for the Angel?

Moved the ashen riders to the board

A few questions, s'il te plait:

    • Giant Adephage vs. Armada Wurm - Why not run the bigger creature? If we bring him back with the whip, we still get a token and it's 7/7 instead of 5/5 (both trample).
    • Did you feel 23 lands was being greedy (even with 8 dorks)? Hard casting some of our guys basically feels impossible when we need 1/3 of our lands to do it.
    • Why are you not running Angel of Serenity main board? I would have thought that would be an auto include. So much value!! Smile
    • I really like the singleton Jarad, any thoughts on running more than 1? Also, what particular match-up were you siding him in for?
    • Did you consider any of the following, and if so why didn't they make the cut: Rot Farm Skeleton, Trostani's Summoner, Nemesis of Mortals.
    • Lastly, and it might have already been asked, thoughts on Rescue from the Underworld? Only 3 whips feels very risky to me...

Giant adephage is not a guarantee to get you a token therefore he doesnt make the cut.

Ive never had a problem hard casting things when i need to. You just have to learn to pull lands from your salvages in the proper matchups

I am now running angel of serenity in the main bc it is very creature heavy down here now

Jarad is only for control and he is awesome and i dont want 2. 1 is enough

Nemesis is a very vanilla mana investment, summoner is cute and i though about it but meh...not really anything id want to cut for them. Rot farm could maybe be a 1 of now that tragic slip is gone, but i would be worried about milling away things unless i have a whip out already

3 whips is just fine. If i added anything it would be 1 obzedats aid.

    ^this and that

If youre worried about a matchup, proxy it up and play it. Youll find out whats its like and learn more about your deck.

I did some playtesting last night with experiment 1 instead of mystics and it was actually pretty good. After going up to 24 lands i felt mystic was pretty lackluster so i swapped them out and i consistently had a 4/4 or 5/5 experiment 1.

    Food for thought

Ashen rider, sylvan primordial, angel of serenity is typically gg bc they dont have a way to deal with it.

That matchup was a cakewalk to me.
Xenagos is garbage and i didnt even bother attacking him.

Shadowborn demon...4 of...is all you need

    Ooze isnt a problem.

Because you can cast gaze for less than 6 and have it still be relevant.
Eviction is 6 and 6 alone...plus youll be evicting all of your guys too
If its turn 4 and they just played a master for say 5 tokens...youre just dead unless you have spot removal or you can gaze for 0 or 1

Gaze of granite is probably the best answer to mono blue
Gaze for 3 is enough to kill everything except bident and master which are both useless alone
