    For starters terramorphic expanse is not in standard

    Artherthing is a great card but it is just not for this deck. You are an attrition deck and having to make someone unblockable and exile it to bring it back all while paying to do so is not optimal. You should be controlling the board and being unblockable is irrelevant at that point.

    I have milled a whip maybe 5 times. When i see my opening hand i determine then and there if im on the hardcast plan or the whip plan.

    That is something you have to be good at defining for yourself.

    When does Arbor Colossus trade with Abhorrent Overlord?

    The last time I checked Arbor Colossus wasn't a vanilla 6/6 Reach and had a very very very cheap Monstrosity cost that's achievable on turn 4/5 in the deck it's played. It doesn't trade. It get's SWATTED down. Like a fly.



    Oh I assure you dear sir, I've tested it against my RG, and "you are doing it wrong" is not a valid argument. They power out threats after the first Garruk. By threats, I meant threatS with a "S". That deck is faster than this deck, hands down, unless you get a double salvage/commune start, which doesn't happen every day. Arbor Colossi, will stick and will go monstrous to swat your fliers anyways, or Polubear's just gonna eat everything. But my point is it's raw power you really want in this slot. To each his own I guess.



    Oh well...ive had 0 problems beating RG so im not too worried about the matchup.
    We can deal with all their threats just as fast as they can put them out.

    Ground pounders are not the way to be going right now. If they have an arbor collosous on board and monstrous then you are doing it wrong anyways.

    You can hard cast summoner all day long and it still gets shut down by every creature in RG.(im only reffering to this matchup because i usually go down to 1 overlord against mono B anyways and he is irrelevant against that deck to me.

    To each their own really, but im speaking from multiple FNM wins and many good showings at 8+ round tournaments.

    You will be greatly disappointed in a big tournament with summoner compared to overlord.


    As for the list above...im not sure why you are running voices.
    Jarads orders are cool in theroy but i forsee them sitting in your hand a lot. At 4 mana you can be doing more productive things. Its not really a toolbox if it isnt consistent like a birthing pod or fauna shaman. Orders has the thumbsdown to me just like most cards that are useless once milled away. You should be running no less than 4 grisly salvages. How do you think you hit land drops? Youre not going to draw them all in a timely fashion ill tell ya that much.

    Hahaha. Most esper people think its not a problem, but like i said...ive never lost a game to it. I have yet to play it without smiters, but im sure its still fine.

    Against Esper I take out

    4 elvish mystic

    Bring in

    As i said i would only bring it in against mono black still anyways. Against them i board out 6 dig spells and a whip anyways so its fine.

    Ive played both junk midrange and reanimator since rotation and i have yet to see any dedicated gy hate. You will see more artifact hate than gy hate.


    We have discussed giant adephage before and he just is not good. Especially with all the doom blades cyclonic rifts out there.

    Shadowborn demon is 100% the best card in the deck and is only terrible against esper(which he gets brought out)
    You should be sacing dorks or demon himself to bring him back and kill something else.
    I love playing a turn 4 demon, then sacing a dork to play a whip and connect for 5 LL, then next turn sac the demon to whip it back and kill something and gain another 5

    That I agree, however the 1/1 fliers don't really add up to much. RG has Mizzium Mortars(the red version) and the green version has Arbor Colossus.




    Yes...but being only 1 mana as opposed to 2 is kinda nice. Plus killing a nightveil specter is good too. Its an option though for sure.

    I still like sin collector more. I bring them in against mono black to yank a kill spell and block lifebanes.


    I would think RG would be boarding out mortars bc it is terribalr against us.
    Also armada wurm matches up terribly against arbor collosus as well. So id rarher have the fliers bc RG has literally no other way to get around fliers. They are so desperate they bring in ruric thar which is just comically bad

    How are you finding Dark Betrayal? I seriously feel they should be Selesnya Charms, it takes care of gods, and demon all the same with no chance of them bringing it back. It dual functions against aggro as a killspell for cacklers and satyrs.

    How are you finding the Sin Collectors? I seriously feel they're lackluster and prefer straight up Thoughtseize as it can deal with the boogeyman mono black much better.

    I didnt think about selesnia charm...that is s possibility. I would never bring it in against anything else except mono black though.

    Sin collector is awesome bc you can overload the board with them and force them to verdict snd then drop a whip or whatever.


    Armada wurm is just bad now with big RG running around, same reason smiter is bad. Having a bunch of fliers is more relevAnt than a few ground pounders

    Took the new list to an event today and went 3-2 squeaking into top8

    Beat RG 2-0
    Lost a close match to BG(splash for ooze, decay, reaper, putrefy) 2-1
    Beat mono black 2-1
    Beat mono blue 2-0
    Lost to mono black due to mulling with no green in g1 and g3

    Couldve easily been 5-0, but **** happens. This new list is definitely a lot better suited for the metagame now.

    No no no no no

    Have any of you actually played in a legit tournament with this deck??
    If you have you would realize that all of these ideas are terrible.

    I just finished the $5k at 5-3

    I lost 2 rounds to RG bc of mana screw and mulligans bc of mana screw.
    Then lost a very close match to BWR in 3 games.

    Beat RG twice, naya midrange twice, and esper(once again 2-0)


    I implore you to put my 75 together and tell me how badly you think you need slaughter games or aetherthing...

    Ill post up my new 75 when i get home bc mono red is completely gone from real life metas for the most part.

    I think it's a pretty highly underrated card, sure it takes 4 mana, but for instance, if you know your opponents control deck is running a single card as a Finisher, you can simply just name their finisher and they have to scoop. Obviously this is gotten around by (most) control decks having multiple ways of finishing you, but removing 1 out of their two 2 options is valuable, ESPECIALLY if you Sin Collector to see which finisher they could be holding in their hand.

    It also hits any decks that are running cards that are incredibly important, think Advent of the Wurm, Whip of Erebos, Voice of Resurgence, Master of Waves, Underworld Connections, Sphinx's Revelation, Elspeth, Aetherling, Gray Merchant, Jace, Blood Baron, Desecration Demon.

    The sheer options of messing up your opponents strategy with Slaughter Games I think outweights the fact that we would need to use a Caryatid to get the mana. The things that tend to blow our deck out are specific cards and not an over-arching strategy using multiple cards. We can pick out what thing we don't want to see played against us, and prevent them from using it.

    If you turn 4 Slaughter Games you can effectively stop a Control deck from doing what they like to do which is control until they blow you out with a huge Rev.



    Its still just not worth it. The only cards that im worried about in standard are pack rat and desecration demon and slaughter games(if you can cast it) is a terrible answer to those.

    I have yet to lose a single game to control so far. I best another esper player last 2-0...that matchup is just a cakewalk

    I would cut 2 aids...it seems good as a 1 of.
    I havent tested it at all so idk...i just dont like the idea of milling over it instead of it being a creature to grab
