Yeah, cards like this really test the definition of “strictly better”.
This card is better than Lotus Vale in a couple of very significant ways,
but entering tapped keeps it from being strictly better.
I still want several myself, I already used Lotus Vale in a couple of EDH decks,
and this will work better since LV almost always dies to Strip Mine rather than Armageddon.
Do we know First Sliver’s Chosen is White?
Considering what The First Sliver does,
I could totally see it being Blue with “Slivers you control have ‘UT: Return this creature to your hand.’”
I guess they could do that in White as well, if they wanted.
"Faithless Eons" is going to be a deck. I don't know if it will be the same deck that focuses on Phoenix, but this helps negate the drawback of Faithless Looting while also providing a way to reshuffle them into the deck to draw again.
"Echo Looting" or "Looting Echo" sounds better than "Faithless Eons"
Faithless Echoes.
Is that what you hear resounding from a Careless Whisper?
Pssst... Gift of Orzhova.
For those asking why not both this and Herald’s Horn, most decks don’t have infinite space for helper cards

It’s not *strictly* better, but it’s damn close.
The original didn’t need Amulet of Vigor for fun.
Still glad I invested more into Scorched Ruins
especially in a way that could be considered better than the original Lotus Vale.
Ritual is one cheaper and triggers for anyone’s creatures.
Also, talking about EDH here, where Ritual tends to draw one card per turn.
The emo kids will be pleased.
but this is a fun option in a deck with a lot of tokens/weenies.
I doubt he will be banned because of this, but you never know.

and was done by none other than Ms. Terese Nielsen!
Nice to see they aren’t giving Seb McKinnon *all* of the surreal pieces!
I’ve already got a couple of decks primed and ready for it
