Hm... Arbor Elf and the Shocklands actually go really, really well together, huh? Guess it makes sense that he would be reprinted...
Remember to add Scorned Outcast/Moonscarred Werewolf! That's kind of a 2 mana mana dork, only it can actually attack without immediately dying, and synergizes well with the rest of the G in the block.
Yeah, but he playtests and tinkers with his decks for hours. He is greatly better at playing decks, and building decks, than anyone else around. We can hand him a deck, and he will run it better than its builder, consistantly. He is legitimately good. Yet... Shocklands underpowered and undying over flashback... Like I said, it doesn't click.
Basically, up here we have one player who has tier 2 Legacy decks out his ears, while the rest of us are doodling around with Casual. Best player in the group. I told him, "Hey, they're reprinting Shocklands!" after a game once.
"What does that do?"
"Well, they're dual lands. You can pay 2 life to have them come out untapped, and they count as the basic types of the lands, like 'Forest Swamp'."
"...That sounds terrible. Why would anyone ever play that? That just sounds dumb."
I tried to convince him that these were some of the most expensive, best lands ever... but he still insisted that the other bounce lands from Ravnica were way better. The ones that tap for 2? Yeah, says he turns them into an advantage by playing them with lifegain lands.
He also insists that Undying is more powerful than Flashback.
He's the best player in the group! How does that work?
Rats/Discard/Deathtouch, YEAH! Low cost, low power, virtually no payoff besides that one beautiful, priceless moment when you opponent looks on in horror as it actually works. Which should be about 1 game out of 12.
Is that going to stop me from building the crap out of that deck?
Well, I'm graduating from Job Corps in about a month. This means, I get to look for actual work! But, with a resume that is just barely above mediocre and little relevant experience, what can I expect?
As-is, I have made accounts with Idaho department of Labor, Humanix, and Monster. I have IC3 certifications, (or will have), and specialist certificates in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint 2010. I have also been searching around a bit, and it seems that Coeur D'Alene (the place I'll be living) has some good apartments for renting... but what to do about securing employment? Anyone have any tips?
W: Feeling of Justice, self-punishment when I step "out-of-bounds", general love for others. U: I like knowledge, and am one of the more logical of my peer group, if somewhat disconnected to others. G: I also love nature, mixing with U. I massively dislike the whole "green" movement due to my attempt at objectively understanding nature.
"You can't send my man-land to the graveyard; it's a land, so it can't die!" Argued for about 2 full minutes before the little knucklehead got the picture.
Gore Vassal's effect. We thought it meant that it regenerates itself. Therefore, capable of turning the enemy's entire field into 1/1s without dying. Took us a while to figure out that that was crazy, stupid, and wrong. Man, that would be messed up...

No it is not.
