    To allow a higher as-fan of legendary creatures in a set and since its a small set we only have 10 mythic spots.

    I don't know if we will see " Obelisks" in Takir, since they had a role in the Alara storyline. Not saying we aren't getting something similar but I don't think they will be called "Obelisks of ____"

    I would argue that Xenagos isn't really a villain, he just got painted that way. They said in the uncharted realms, he merely wanted to show mortals that the gods were nothing no worship, even though he failed. As in greek mythology, the gods were dicks and he wanted to show the people they didn't have to believe. I personally really liked him, even though he wasn't the most pleasant guy. Rolleyes

    Close, said Kruphix. He traveled to other worlds where there were no gods, and decided everyone on Theros should know the gods were a lie.

    "I don't think he succeeded," said Kydele.

    He did not, said Kruphix. People saw the chaos. They saw the destruction. They saw, in short, a usurper into a domain that had otherwise remained, by all appearances, indefinitely stable. Perhaps, if he had lived to take his place among the pantheon, people might remember that there had not always been a god of revelry, and come to wonder what that meant about the other gods

    Take a look here;
    http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/magic-fundamentals/magic-storyline/550424-why-does-xenagos-deserve-to-die

    Just to take a few point from that thread and the storyline;
    Xenagos is sadistic
    He killed his own twin in the womb
    He tried to kill his mother multiple times
    His reveals often ended up with the murder and/or enslavement of several people
    He tricked the minotaurs into attacking Akros
    He used Worst Fear to have Elspeth kill Daxos
    Unslaved a bunch of Nyx born creature, draining their power so he could maintain his godhood.

    And I'm sure I'm miss a ton of stuff. The fact you are showing empathy for him isn't because he was just painted a villain, it is because wizards was able to make a well written villain with motivations you can understand.

    As far as we know only Venser, Elsepth and Xenagos are died.

    IMO on the planes walkers ratio;
    Good
    Ajani Goldmane
    Venser
    Dack Fayden
    Elspeth Tirel
    Gideon Jura
    Jace Beleren
    Karn
    Koth

    Neutral leans toward good/evil
    Chandra Nalaar (seems more good)
    Tamiyo (seems more on the good, but we don't know much about her)
    Sarkhan Vol (seemed pretty neutral until he started following Bolas)
    Sorin Markov
    Liliana Vess (seemeds more evil, acting out only for herself, but wizards seems to be setting her up as an anti-hero)
    Nissa Revane (She seems...unpleasent but I feel like she gonna redeem herself)
    Ral Zarek (seemd more evil)
    Domri Rade (more of a coin flip here depends on how Domri acts in the future)
    Kiora (I don't get the hate for her, she prideful, yes, a trickers, yes, evil, no)
    Garruk Wildspeaker(we'll see where this cursed Garruk ends up)

    Evil
    Xenagos
    Vraska (used to be neutral leans towards evil)
    Ashiok
    Nicol Bolas
    Tibalt
    Tezzeret

    MOON-E never said they couldn't have reach, I we could see something like this;

    1G
    creature- archer
    Reach
    Suit Up
    As long as ~ is equpt ~ has "T: ~ deals 3 damage to target creature with flying".

    Quote from Greenlexluther
    Triton is the name of the legendary merfolk as far as we know.

    No its what the merfolk race is call in theros. From the planeswalker guild;
    Tritons and the humans of Meletis comprise most of Thassa's worshippers, as well as all who venture out to sea, whether for exploration, commerce, or war. Although tritons exalt her above all other gods, she shows no favoritism toward them, seeming equally impassive to all mortals.

    Quote from bji
    I think that one thing that RTR proved is that all of the mechanics are useful and well-balanced (for limited). Even Izzet, which looked like the dud guild early, ended up being quite good because its overload mechanic was put onto some cards that ended up being really, really good. Similarly for Rakdos, where the idea of just adding a +1/+1 counter to a creature being worth that creature being unable to block seemed preposterous; but if you look at the creatures they put unleash on, they actually are very strong.

    I think that's the key here - Wizards balanced the guilds; if their guild ability is weak or narrow, they put it on good cards to make up for that. For this reason I expect that Orzhov is going to get some pretty good cards, because Extort by itself is not a mechanic that is going to win games outright like Overload or Populate can.

    Agreed. Though i'm not a fan of W/B but the returning is pretty nice on its own. Plus it gives you more spell to cast and trigger extort.

    I also like how this flavory shows how different the simic are this time around. Instead but grafting and forcing an evolution they semi-naturally evolve (i think they use magic to boost themselves but only when the creature feels "threaten". I think it also shows a side of (G/U) we haven't see before; the need to be better then those around you with strength for green and intelligence for blue.

    posted a message on Wedge Philosophies - BWG
    Ever since Shards of Alara I've loved to see how three color cards are like. The shards where easy to figure out but the wedges not so much. So I've loved seeing the other posts about the other wedge philosophies and figured I'd start the last wedge

    For me I think is like a fungus. A ever growing force of nature that feeds on death but has a "hive mind" like mentality. With no , work based on its instinct in a traditional since. Grow and feed but always in the same patterns.

    Anyone agree or disagree?
