... so if you awaken this land first, wouldn't the Demon also be just a 0/0 with the +1/+1 counters from the Awaken effect and an Elemental as well as a Demon?
I don't think so, since other creatures who transform change their base power and toughness to whatever the other side is. It would keep the counters though.
EDIT- I cleaned up some typos and clarified somethings.
Opportunity- Yes I'm aware it replaces Deathtouch for black. I was trying to make a control mechanic for UWB and tapping seemed like a good idea since all three color interact with tapping, with WU and tap/untap things and black liking to take advantage of tapped things. I agree it is a little out there for black but it also just feels like a different form of Deathtouch.
Blood Cast- The blue aspect is because this mechanic will be mostly used on Instant and Sorcery and it being a "fixed" Prowl.
Feed- While I see the point of caring about toughness, the kind of idea I was going for is this creatures taking power from those who have died (or maybe sacrificed) and it makes since that they want the power of the most powerful creature as posed to the most hardy creature. I also intended to focus the set to having you sac your own creatures to feed the other.
Resourced- Yes it meant to put than. So it tuns on as long as you have 10 more life (EX: you at 25 and an opponent is at 15) Seemed like a good space to play in with these colors since W can gain you life, R and make opponents lose life and B can do both.
Armed-Yeah I made it a point of saying you control so things like Pacifism can't activate it.
Valor- Yeah I was on the fence of naming it. I ended up doing it since Armed is evergreen for my sets and Valor is suppose to be a fraction mechanic, though Heroic also works instead.
Insight- I add thought of going Insight a cost, but I didn't know if it would nerf it too much. I also made this original just to give your creature a +1/+1 counter but figured I could open it up to other effects. Would making it like prowess work better? AKA Insight gives you a +1/+1 counter (and a cost) and a few other will have other abilities that activate when you draw a card?
So I've been brain storming different mechanics and would like to get a few people input about them. (Note: these cards are to show off the mechanic so power level isn't considered with some of theses cards, rather to show the design space);

EDIT 1: cleaned up a few typos and clarified a few things.
@Legends
I posted that white has had access to making opponents lose life, which is very similar to being dealt damage.
Also a really big point I think your missing about Avacyn is well...she is Avacyn. She is a major story character and is very iconic, being one of few legendary creatures who have been the focus of a set. This is her third card, not even a lot of walkers have that many cards. She is also at mythic rare where the level of bleed can be higher, as well as having a "draw back" of being a legendary creature. All of that is very different then your U/R uncommon instant card.
Excellent planeswalker. But does this mean we aren't getting a legendary Werewolf for EDH? I'm pretty sure that's a secret common thought behind everyone excited we got a werewolf walker
Their is eldritch moon still, just like how we didn't get a WUBRG legendary ally until Oath.
Also anyone see Maro say booster packs will have 1.5 transforming cards (meaning every booster pack will have one and some boosters will have two transform cards in them), which means it is possible to pull four mythics in a pack
I don't know if the print runs work like that. I don't think it necessarily grabs two DFCs at random or anything.
As for the second idea, the design team embraced the idea of having a "double-faced cards matter" theme. Instead of one double-faced card per booster pack, we raised it to two and then made a bunch of cards that cared about things being or having been transformed. The green-blue Draft archetype became the "transformation matters" deck. In the end, though, this theme didn't play well enough to keep. We ended up lowering the as-fan of the double-faced cards from two per pack down to about 1.125 [Editor's note: This originally said 1.5. That was incorrect.], meaning you always get one and sometimes get two.
Her ultimate only makes sense if you're going to put something big onto the battlefield. Not saying Eldrazi, but... Eldrazi.
Also, dunno if someone mentioned it before, but the Clue symbol totally looks like something someone who was told what this looks like without ever seeing it would draw. I mean, main shape with a gap at the top, stuff dangling below it
It specifies "artifact or creature" so probably not an Eldrazi. She's almost certainly going to be paired some powerful artifact.
Also anyone see Maro say booster packs will have 1.5 transforming cards (meaning every booster pack will have one and some boosters will have two transform cards in them), which means it is possible to pull four mythics in a pack
Thanks, but just to clarify storyline-wise; it IS canon that when Nahiri awoke she found vampires on Zendikar when previously they had not existed, correct?
Yes, she awoke after Ulamog corrupted them.
Also of note, Slavering Nulls is a goblin zombie (Zendikar zombies are created when a vampire that wasn't of the original brood bleeds a victim), but the only bloodchiefs (original vampires) we know of appear human. I asked Gavin Verhey about this on tumblr, but still waiting on a response regarding bloodchiefs/vampire species.
Cause the Zendikar vampires can feed/turn non-humans.
Find me a white card that has the text "it deals 3 damage to each other creature and each opponent." You can't? Oh, that's because it's not a white effect, but it's on a creature that you put into play with only white mana. Le Gasp. And Rosewater said that they only bent the color pie. Which means white was always capable of this effect. Right.
Ummm their isn't much difference between "deals 3 damage to each other creature" and "destroy all creatures with toughness three or less" which while no white card at this time has that effect, it is something I won't bat an eye at seeing in the future in white. Also white has had cards that causes players to lose life such as Suture Priest and Extort which is only different from a flavor stand point to dealing damage.
Also as a werewolf player, I think DFC are so much better then flips cards and I don't really see the point in whining about having to use a checklist card (which is only really annoying if you run a lot of DFC) or les gasp! buy sleeves.
In Nephalia, the lost and the mad turn their devotion to the inscrutable waters and to this massive horror that lurks in their lightless depths.
Whatever this thing is, I don't think it's the culprit of all that's going on in Innistrad, but it's definitely an allusion to Dagon, and probably a symptom of Innistrad's recent events.
Damn bet me too it
Might be too soon to tell but I'm blaming the toad.
Dire Wombat: Oh, agreed. All signs point to some outside influence manipulating emotions to wreak havoc on Innistrad.
They're doing it to Avacyn, they're doing it to the Vampires... why not Nahiri, too?
My belief is that Nahiri got caught by whatever is plaguing everyone else.
And Jace, by the trailer, is also feeling it. It may be that his amnesia makes him very susceptible to it (nothing to buttress his current personality), OR it might make him resistant to it (nothing to manipulate).
Also, Tamiyo's notes have always come off as sane and rational... if her ability is Moon-Magic (Selenomancy?), then she may be immune to the effects of 'them'.
This is what I've been thinking and it would be interesting to see Jace having to fight off the madness from himself.
I don't think so, since other creatures who transform change their base power and toughness to whatever the other side is. It would keep the counters though.
