thank god its limited to creatures and not all spells.

still kind of mediocre, woopeedoo its a lord with vigilance

i guess it'll keep elementals relevant in standard and brawl?

Its a lord for the five main monster types so in limited and draft you will likely take it since will likely boosts most of the creatures.

Hmmm, could it not just have been "number of instants" at that price tag? Would definitely have been a great tool for Sunforger that way.

This card makes you work really hard just to get a Warleader's Helix. They could have tacked cycling onto it as well at least.

I do like that they seem to be making cycling a bit of a theme for RW and printing unprecedentedly cheap cycling costs for these colors at common.

    Certainly helps with commander.

Haha I'm teasing. We are definitely in the midst of the spoiling of mostly limited commons and uncommons, which tend not to be overly interesting for the most part. At least some of the keywords matters cards have been intriguing, if not wildly impressive.

Yeah I'm not sure why, with only 2 days remaining, they don't give us more of the companions or the 3(assuming 15) remaining mythics. Or maybe that rare land cycle that MaRo promised.

    We are also missing Narset.

Loving these lord and funny enough I thought of something similar for a 3 color set (thought the keyword matters makes them more relevant in my version).

    Considering Ozolith's entity...

I'm stupid...I am even commenting above on the eloquency and the fact the entity apparently seem pleased with itself...might that be Oko? It seems like General Kudro is exactly the type of ruler he'd want to "steal a crown" from.

That was my thought as well and could be part of set up for a bigger conflict later.

I've got to know, how much did Vivien egg Lukka on?

None, she was disgusted by how Lukka was forcing the monsters under control and him using them as suicide attackers and joined with the city to stop Lukka.

My thoughts and questions below but overall a good read, not my favorite but glad to see the story is trying to come along. I do however feel like this story was shorter than Eldraine and wonder if this a trend going forward. While the story is fine at this length, I would have liked to have seen more to clear up some plot points.

-Surprise Lukka being the villain is interesting choice, though this another beast mage (even if its done with empath and force) and I fee like magics has enough.

-Bonding is a new-ish development and might also be a way for humans to move up the food chain slightly.

-Did not except his unnamed cat to be killed T-T I do wonder if that also caused it his flip into madness.

-Drannith had tales of walkers and researchers had guessed at other worlds

-They seems to worship a polytheist region since gods is thrown around.

-Narset just gets a name drop, looks like she's was on plane but near the action.

-Vivien can see/sense nature magic which is something I don't think we knew before. She also nots Ikoira predator/prey deal is unbalanced and monsters are somewhat unnatural to her view.

-Okay big question who is the one who corrupted Ozolith? My thought was Bolas and that this was a plane he had plans for but went out of control since his "death" but now not so sure from how Vivien seems to want to track them down still show they would still be alive. Wonder is thats also why Narset is here as well. I wouldn't be surprised to also see Vivien join the gatewatch after what she said about how realizing after War that she has a responsibility as a walker.

Doe we have people in place who we know are gonna buy and read the ebook to give a *SPOILER* Synopsis for everyone?

    I can volunteer if necessary.

I plan to give my thoughts and brief summary on the aspects I found interesting as I tend to do, but as I'm a speed reader who typical finishes a book quickly and then re-reads it a few times for details feel free to summarize in detail.

The fact Lukka is a bonder and the book is called Sundered Bond I don't think its gonna end happy.

When I think of Flash, mono black is not the first thing that comes to mind. Is the hybrid cost there so that Sultai can have a fallback UB available if it can't get to UU on T2?

It's definitely been there, especially recently:

It's been becoming a way for black to have creature-based interactions.

Oh, I'm not saying it isn't tertiary in black. I am specifically saying, I feel like it's exactly tertiary in black and secondary in Green, after blue. But I do see your point about strengthening it in black.

They decided to move flash to secondary (green still gets it tertiary) around the fall Ravnica set last year to give blue/black an evergreen mechanic.

I love the boggle, I like that magic had made its own lore that it can reference. White nightmare is a thing and pretty sweet too.

I really think I'm gonna go for the key word matters/counter deck these looks fun.

Yes, except their claim to infamy comes from what they did to other people, not animals. And Vivien doesn't care; we even get the perspective of villagers being swept in the madness and destroyed alongside civilisation.

Just saying, you can argue Vivien was set up against a civilization easyer to justify her actions I won't call the Legion of Dusk isn't an "evil caricature" so much as a fantasy world version of the real evils human can committed. And they import animals did similar thing to them.

Not saying Vivien doesn't fit being a villain/anti-hero-villian, with what she did to the innocents, but also she has more going with her as character imo and I'm interested to see what role she plays in this story.

I love this, being giving my morph deck a flash bend and this would be evil for it.

The given reason white isn't suppose to get ramp or draw is since is suppose to be able to answer anything and these keep it in check. I'm guessing the idea is you don't always ramp to match but to also thin your deck and help you cast more answers. If it works in play is debatable.

Another thing to keep in mind is to wait and play your normal land drop after the bird hits someone. I do that with Knight of the White Orchid and not the best most effective way it also is away thin out and ramp as well as giving you somewhat of a benefit for not going first.

So your opponents can pay to grow it and then toss the grenade at someone else? It's unique, and I think it's a lot of fun. You get to swing and not take the blame. A great Hydra for any tribal commander deck.

Or you can to swing at multiple foes at once.

    oops still nifty.
