Well, when money, time, and passion is involved, this kinda behavior against AB is expected. There is no "way too seriously" when money is involved. This matter is serious and should be dealt seriously.

If someone makes something wrong, I expect that person to be punished. Lot of people who play that level never cheats or do that level of wrongness. Dunno why treat it like religion and calling everyone sinner.

However, he already got punished. We can all argue about the lightness or harshness of the punishment, but as of now he paid the price from his wrongdoings. Hopefully he really learned his lesson like some other players who did wrong things and rehabilitated although his attitude isn't helping much in this.

I still think of this when I go to an event and see a dude using an IQ playmat with a Top 8 pin in it. Sure, a playmat helps your sleeves live more but you look like a douche who's showing off.

That's not the fault of the playmat concept. It's just the extra stuff unrelated with the mat. Some people may bring these stuff to "intimidate" others, but you should just ignore it. Douches will be douches regardless of this.

Now if you thing bringing those $200+ Spellground (or whatever its name is) playmats is douche as well, again, this is a collector's game as well. People wanna show off their expensive stuff. I think it's cool and sometimes nostalgic.

The point is, as soon as you give white more draw, it automaticly buffs the allready most dominant strategy ~ UW even further. Blue on its own is harmless. And there you have decks that already laugh at you, laugh even harder.

Find a way to bring blue down an itsy little bit, and it'll be alot better.

But that's kinda easy to avoid. Just make the cost heavy on white and/or make it only good if you play heavily with white cards. Blue draw engine is already good, so adding a mediocre white draw engine would not make it better for the already strong UW. Maybe it will open up options for pure white or WU (using blue as support instead).

After reading most of the posts here, I actually like the idea of arms race. Other colors should have something on the same power level but different. Green received lotsa support recently, making ramp a bit ridiculous, but at least is viable compared to combo. White and Red should get something that make them standout on their own instead of being just supporters. At least breaking the balance in Commander (like most here said, it's not supposed to be balanced), arms race printing strategy would shake up the balance between the colors. It's probably better than a stagnated balance.
