I really like some of the things that this deck offers. Currently, I'm running a Delver variant because I feel like he complements the deck in the same fashion that nacatl is used in naya midrange. I think that having a one drop that can apply pressure while still holding up for counters and removal is important. I'm also running sleight of hand as well over gix probe for the card selection benefits. I want to run mentors, but based on this forums cumulative results, it seems like it may not be necessary.
Also, regarding the new jace, i found him lackluster. While the deck benefits the most from his looter side, i don't think that the deck really needs more than four Snapcaster effects, especially because it can only be used at sorcery speed. Not being able to snap counters back is huge, and is fundamental to any variation of the deck. Plus I've only ever got one trigger of him before flipping. This might be because of the scours. I'm interested in hearing other people's findings.
Does anyone know of a site/software that allows you to input multiple decklists into it and prints of proxies that are just a list of color/someway coded card names? I'm trying to playtest against multiple decks and a friend of mine use to write the decklists of multiple decks onto 75 cards so that you could use the same physical set of cards, but have it represent like 5-8 different decks.
Honestly, they should just do away with the reserved list. They should allow themselves to reprint older cards, at least in small quantities. I mean, the reserve list didn't exactly stop China from printing thousands of copies of Tarmogoyf. So what's the hold up?
It's not about them just being cardboard. It's the perceived value. This is what drives the price in any industry/item/whatever.
At the end of the day, a dollar bill is just paper and cloth. It's the perceived value of it being worth $1 that makes people earn, steal, fight over, etc. money.
So it sounds like a definite no for the rat. I was actually planning to put it into my Jund Deck, but seeing as how there is an overwhelming abundance of proof that it is a bad choice, I will seek out other things. Thanks for the replies!
