Hi all, as the title suggests I'm trying to find a specific size Ultra Pro deck box that accommodates a double sleeved 75 card deck with a little extra room for tokens. The 80 card box is too small and the 100+ is too large. I already own a few of the box I'm looking for so I know they exist. The dimensions are ~2.5 x 3 x 3.75 inches. I haven't been able to find any more online and I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out. Thanks!

Moat seems to have spiked hard. My guess is that supply just dried up as Miracles players picked them up for sideboard play against Eldrazi. No way the new price sticks, since it's a fringe-ish sideboard card. But collectibility and rarity will keep it around ~$500 as a new price in my estimation.

So Thorn of Amethyst seems to have spiked. Presumably due to its inclusion in the new Legacy Eldrazi decks?

Lion's Eye Diamonds have increased significantly in price over the last week or so. I'm thinking it may be due to an influx of players getting into Legacy after the Twin ban in Modern and wanting to play the premier combo deck of the format?

Ha well in that case, why even consider it in the first place, if you don't mind me asking?

My concern was with the price trajectory of the non-foil fetches vs the Expedition ones. I expect the non-foil fetches to continue to rise over time until reprinted again. The Expeditions are in an interesting place imo, they're pimp but not as pimp as original pack foils (or arguably the Judge foils) and so I'm uncertain as to their future behavior. I don't expect the Expeditions to go down any further, but I don't know if they'll increase in value as much as the non-foils. I suspect that they will, which is why I made the trade, but I wanted to hear other people's opinions.

Edit: also, my understanding of Standard is poor, so I didn't know if we could expect Gideon to shoot up in value at some point and thus should be held onto in the short term.

I actually picked up pile B as I don't play Standard and the fetches were surplus. Thanks for the feedback!

So I don't follow Standard or its price trends much, but I recently won a box of BFZ and pulled a Gideon. I know it's impossible to predict the post OGW meta but what is the consensus on his playability? What are the typical price trends for a planeswalker like him? Should I hold, or sell now? Thanks in advance!

Aluren seems to have gained ~50% value since it's performance at GP Seatac. Is there room for more growth or will the availability of Recruiters keep Aluren down?

Great points made so far by Horatio_Mills and jeffbcrandall. To add to them, I'd also point out that a lot more people are hoarding sealed product than were in the past, so supply will be higher for a longer period of time for reasons besides larger print runs. I'd agree with the assessment that trying to make money off of sealed booster boxes is not an efficient use of your money these days.

It's not a thing. Someone is just playing with the market. If Old School Magic/94 was a thing, people would buy out City of Brass, which is a 4-of in most decks, but the price hasn't moved much.

Right now, the format is smaller than Vintage.

You're forgetting that the bottlenecks are also smaller for this 93/94 format. If it even reaches fringe play the level of VIntage, you'll see a strong upswing in price for the new demand. ALSO, CoB has been printed a bajillion times. Cards like Juzaaam Djinn have not. I need to get a Juzaam soon. I always wanted one as a kid and they're not getting cheaper.

The only printing of City of Brass legal in 93/94 is Arabian Nights.

It's definitely 93/94, because the Unlimited cards are spiking too....those only are going up because of 93/94, because legacy players will just as soon used Revised, and the rarity of UL has long not been a significant driver of the price of those cards because of the white border.

Not necessarily true. In some regions people are allowed to use white bordered/foreign versions of cards, it depends on how strict the local participants want to be. As such, cards like Juzam are going to see a greater spike than cards like CoB which have been reprinted many times. Here's an example of a local Old School tourney with more lax rules.

I love when a card sells out and someone throws it on TCG for an extraneous price and people just blindly follow it. That's how these guys make there money, and they wouldn't still be doing it if it didn't work. If there are no copy's anywhere and the only ones are on TCG are crazy, its probably not real.

I think what's actually happening is that all the sellers use an algorithm that automatically increases the price on cards when a lot of them sell very quickly. This is usually the reason you see ridiculous prices on cards right after a buyout. I'm sure what you're proposing happens as well but my understanding is that the majority of the time it's automatic

Considering dual lands on average have dropped around 30% from this time a year ago, including all the blue dual lands, "they basically go up" is 100% incorrect.

They have a price ceiling wherein the cost becomes too prohibitive and decreases the demand on them. They're not "free money" if you just sit on them for a long time.

The drop you're referring to was a natural correction after a huge spike due to the relative increase in value of Modern staples and the subsequent trading up into duals that occurred. If you look at the pre-spike price compared to now duals have gained over 50% in value. It's true that they don't just increase in value, but the overall trend is definitely upwards when looked at over a reasonable time scale.

To answer the question about the best time to buy duals, in my experience around Christmas time when people's finances are a bit strapped is a good time to skulk around eBay looking for steals. I'd recommend only buying from reputable sellers nowadays though with the proliferation of fakes good enough to be tough to identify online.

If that's the case, then 'someone' is wrong. Card is straight busted in half. It makes Dredge a top tier deck in Vintage. No way WotC is dumb enough to unleash that on Legacy unless they're trying to kill the format.

I feel like new set «potential staples» (although K'ommand is becoming one pretty fast, pretty obviously) foils are really expensive compared to what it used to be. Example: Anticipate. Foil is around 10$ if not more, depending on sources. Gurmag Angler. Yes it's good. But 15$ for a foil common?

Agreed. Why is the Angler foil the same price as a Delver foil? Delver is played a lot more and there are fewer copies out there. Plus Delver foils were around $5 for a long time. Angler shot up much faster. I think speculation just has a lot more influence these days.
